Great food and even better service. Ate here twice in two days while working in the area. The pork, whether grilled or fried are delicious. If you like a good burger, the bacon cheeseburger will hit the spot. If your passing through, I highly recommend.

Cozy little Texas restaraunt smack dab in cow country, located in El Campo, Texas. The lack of appealing grub offerings in the surrounding areas led us to this lone star gem. The sound of live country music greeted us as we walked through the door which just feels right.. when you walk into a place named the Lone Star Cafe. We were seated promptly and offered appetizers and cold drinks right away. The menu is fairly limited but consisted of what you hope to find at a restaraunt like this… steaks, burgers, a little fried seafood & grown folks beverages. I thought our server was friendly and attentive enough. I’d recommend this place and look forward to trying a steak the next time I stop by.

Great food, excellent service. Lots of items on the walls to look and laugh at. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but inside it is cozy and comfortable. The staff makes you feel welcome and the food is country cooking at its best. I’ll be back and bringing friends.

My kids and I just tried this place for the first time. I am giving two stars because the atmosphere was nice, and the employees were friendly and efficient. The issues were, our food was cold including the cheese dip for our chips and salsa. Also, they charge $8.00 for a wine based margarita instead of the price of wine, and $2.49 for about 2.5 oz of salsa. If someone orders chips and cheese and asks for some hot sauce or salsa, it is gonna cost $5.00 for a normal amount of salsa given to you for free at a Mexican restaurant. Too pricey for us for cold, expensive cheese dip, and burgers. Sorry but we will not be back 🙁

Hands down the best meal we’ve had in the El Campo area. My son had an unbelievable cheeseburger. I had blackened catfish and shrimp with fantastic greens beans full of bacon. The beer was ice cold and the service was great.

A hidden gem! We had a large group and the orders were diverse. The waitresses took excellent care of us, even though they lost power right after we ordered. They put temporary lighting around us and the food was still prepared rather quickly. All the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!
