Haven’t been to a ljs in some years but have always been a fan. This location the dining room is never opened so I kinda refused to ever go because I hate drive thrus but it was fathers Day and we couldn’t make up our minds on where to eat so we ended up in the line…I was totally impressed! Food was fresh and good and we had alot of orders and they got each one correct and gave us plenty of tartar! The lady working the window was awesome! I’ll definitely go back.

I have to give 1 star for this restaurant because they refused to take my $$ for the order. We waited in line for around 20min before getting to the drive thru speaker. We ordered and proceeded to wait to get to the window. When we arrived I handed them $100 for a $46 order. They said they NEVER take $50 or $100 bills. We explained that was all we had and they said we could could pay with smaller bills or leave. We began to leave and decided to see if there was a sign stating this anywhere. The is a small piece of paper(about 3 inches tall) on the drive thru window you pay at. It is very faded and barely legible. There should have been a notice on the drive-thru speaker or even before that point stating that they do not take large bills.

I placed an online order and picked it up through the drive-through. The person who spoke to me through the speaker and waited on me at the window wasn’t kind to me. Having worked in food service and customer service for years, I believe I understand the difficulties of this type of work and can normally overlook most everything. This time, though, I just couldn’t understand her attitude towards me.

I don’t understand why both LJS in Asheville won’t open their dining rooms! They like to say they don’t have the staff. I find it hard to believe they can’t hire someone. Probably just excuses for they just don’t want to deal with dine in…why should they? All other restaurants are open inside…hmmm!
