Stopped here out of my way (Athens OH location) because I was driving from Mich to SC. Dining room was filthy; counter girl was awful and “Aidan” the cook gave me stale food. Girl at the counter tried charging me extra when I accidentally ordered the wrong combo. They were the same price but one came with a drink and the other came with no drink and two sides. She said she would have to cancel my order and charge me for the difference. Again they were the SAME price. Asked for a glass for water and the counter girl was rude about that as well. She didn’t tell me hello, thank me for my business or invite me to come again. Whoever owns this location needs to take these employees to task. NEVER AGAIN in Athens, OH.

Never will I stop at this Long John silver’s. I ordered two pieces of fish and three shrimp and I give me chicken. I go all the way back from the other side of town to get my two pieces of fish. And the manager wouldn’t honor my. I had to pay a second time for my food. It’s a very dishonorable location.

This was the first time I had been back since them replacing my raw food in October. I have a big family, so I order alot when I come through. I ordered the 16 piece family meal half chicken, half fish. The girl at the window was very nice. I waited quite a while but wasn’t upset by it as I was not in a hurry anyways. She handed us everything and I went over to save a lot and opened it. My 19 yr old pregnant daughter opens the box and says mom this chicken is burnt. I hate having to go back through when something is wrong, makes me feel like a jerk. I understand stuff happens so I usually try to just tolerate whatever it is that went wrong. Well, I had an awful time trying to eat it. It wasn’t just the crust that was tough. The chicken was so hard and dry that I felt like an animal trying to rip it apart and honestly it hurt my teeth. I don’t have bad teeth so the fact that it hurt says alot. I opened the hush puppies for my 6 yr old and most of them looked pretty burnt too. He went ahead and chomped them down, didn’t care. My daughter tried to eat some of the chicken but she was pretty frustrated with it being so hard too so she finally gave up. I took it home and never said anything to the kids about it being burnt. They did eat it, and managed to not lose any teeth. But I can tell ya, I won’t be spending nearly $50 for burnt (or raw like the time before) chicken. I didn’t leave a review the first time because like I said, I understand stuff happens and they did make it right. But if it’s going to be an every time thing, I won’t waste my time and money here. It’s very frustrating.

The food was good. The fries are delicious. The inside of the restaurant was not the cleanest place in the world. The bathrooms were disgusting, im worried about what the kitchen looks like if the bathrooms are like that. Why would you have a dine in area if you wont keep it clean??? I was there yesterday and it was bad but I was there a few months ago and it was so much worse, the walls looked like they had dirt and so did the ceiling. The price of the food was incredibly expensive, me and my brother shared a 10 piece family meal with fries and 2 drinks and it was $42 dollars. My grandma got something for herself and it was an extra $10. Definitely dont go here if you want cheapish food. Everything was to expensive for what you get. If you really want to go, go through the drive-thru.

We used to love this place but we went for lunch the other day and it was awful we tried the new Mac and cheese and cheese sticks and we also got the fish and chicken platter Mac and cheese and sticks were . When I tell you this was the most succulent grub I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat, I would not be lying. The fish is locally sourced from the hocking river and the locally obtained chicken hails from Nelson dining hall down the road! The second the delicate flaky fried fish gently touched my taste buds, I knew I’d be back. Don’t even get me started on the hush puppies! Before I even tasted one I heard a gentle hush coming from the fried beauty, almost as if to release me of my everyday pain softly implying “hey, it’s okay, you’re safe now” just as my mother used to say. It’s literally as if Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri had a love child and birthed the chef that works at this Michelin star establishment! I took my best buddy Nate and he agreed with everything I presented to you in this review. He (and I kid you not) goes back every single day with his husband J Robbie and son Nolan. When I asked Nolan how he felt he told me and I quote “I literally peed out of my butt when I first tried it” and followed up with “I literally club my son Nolan over the head with a wooden bat and yell ooga every time I smell the appetizers” I Would recommend the Athens LJS 100%! – From Peyton with Love ❤️
