This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Long John Silver /Taco Bell.. it was more Taco Bell than anything!!! Everything was so greasy, not crispy but hard!! Could not bite into anything. My 6 year old son described it best!! He says ” mommy, daddy it’s like a banana…. I peel off this stuff and here is my chicken!!” Wow the absolute worse 35 bucks I’ve ever wasted!!

Since there is only 1 Long John Silver’s in this area anymore and this is it, we haven’t had Long John’s in a long, long time. It’s a bit of a drive from where we live. We happened to find ourselves in the area and I couldn’t wait to go. We waited probably 10-15 minutes to be told they ran out of coleslaw. Got our food plus extra fries for the missing coleslaw. Having waited for the 10-15 we expected it to be extremely fresh. The shrimp were so overdone they were chewy and almost inedible. The fish was barely any better. It was disappointing to say the least. I only gave 3 stars because the flavor was still there and very nostalgic for me. I know it could have been better.

The food and service was good but there is a very major problem here. Me and wife have been here twice recently and have been very worried about a troubling situation that occurs here. It seems that management there allows this location to be a haven for homeless people. I don’t feel safe eating inside because of this happening. The last time we were there one individual came in with a Circle K cup and filled his cup with soda. Apparently free of course while I paid for my meal.Also on the same visit one woman came to our table asking us if we wanted free candy. I understand that sometimes people are handed bad situations but a restaurant is and should not be a haven or safehouse for them. There are specific places for that. If I had children I definitely would not go there ever again. Hopefully management or the franchise owner sees this and does something ASAP. I say this before this turns into an incident that might require police assistance.

We stopped here for a quick lunch. The staff told us that they were out of coleslaw so we asked what we could exchange for and they advised we couldnt In a pretty rude manner as if we were bothering them. How is a long johns out of coleslaw? ITS A STAPLE OF THIS PLACE! I will say that the chicken was amazing as always!!!

Got the Long John Silver’s 3 Fish Meal. Fish and hush puppies were crispy, hot, and tasty. Fries were pretty good. One of my favorite drinks Baja Blast is an option here because of the Taco Bell portion.

The worst….I’m not sure why the location owner pays the franchise fee for LJS…the staff sure don’t care for that side (seem happy enough with the Taco Bell side…). I haven’t gone there in about a year because 2 visits back then were both negative….staff said 7pm too late to cook fish, other visit was earlier, but took forever to get food (like they couldn’t drop the fish in fryer while making tacos). They have NEVER accepted any of the coupons from the website and emails. Cannot order online, which is another source of marketing coupons, and they will not redeem in person. Ordering online might help with the wait too… I was finally ready to venture back to Long John Silvers, so I did…on May 12. There was some sort of higher management team there to resolve some sort of conflict… The person taking my order actually made me feel welcome – honestly not sure I have felt that in this location before! She was maybe 40-45 years old, friendly personality. I felt welcome enough that I went back on May 17th. She wasn’t there, a young girl was at the register and I asked her if they would redeem a coupon I’d received via email. She walked off, came back after several minutes with a manager or other staff person, he said “NO”. I looked at the girl and said “you could have told me “no” instead of leaving me here that long – I’m on a 30 minute lunch break”. She replied, in a pretty snarky tone…”How about, it’s my first day and I don’t know”. I get it, first day might not have the answers, but no need to be snarky and insulting – you’re the one behind the register…just tell me it’s your first day and you’ve got to ask someone. I ordered, then sat down. I saw many orders handed out, not mine. I went to counter & asked. They didn’t have the ticket…I showed my copy, they finally started cooking my 8 piece meal (was taking some home for later). I had to grab the container and head back, eating in the car to avoid being late….and I only work 1/4 mile away on same side of the plaza. For the management, my first ticket was #214040, May 12 at 3:46pm (give that lady kudos)! My second visit #214440 at 2:04pm (give that cashier some customer service training).

Unfortunately the fish & chicken and fries were dark, overcooked and seemed old. We ordered 2 chicken planks and one fish. Had to go back and ask for the missing pc of fish. Was given another chicken plank instead. My husband was disappointed and just siad forget it at that point.

I tried liking LJS here in Florida, but their food is too fried, salty, and inedible to consider again. If they worked on making their idea of “Fish’N’Chips” palatable, I would definitely eat there often. Sadly, their menu looks great in pictures, but once served, it is just a crusty mirage of fish, shrimp, chicken, fries, and hushpuppies. Thumbs down to those behind their menu’s planning and execution.
