Stopped into Longhorn today. Its been years since I was there. The wings were outstanding and the service was superb. The owners have updated the place and it has a great outdoor patio. Fun, friendly place to have some drinks or grab a meal.

We’re from out of town spending a week in Omaha, and met up with friends at the Longhorn Bar & Grill in Fort Calhoun. I didn’t have much expectation of food going in, and was pleasantly blown away by the broasted chicken. we also ordered Steak salad which is a good hefty salad and nicely cooked steak.

Our family went here after some friends told us about their jumbo wings and we had to try them. So we did, and WOW!! Super juicy and full of flavor. Wife got hers plain and I had mine sauced with their “hot” sauce. Both are good. Our kiddo got a cheeseburger with cottage cheese and she was satisfied with it and said we need to go back, which I don’t blame her one bit. Big portions, great food, excellent service. Just remember to bring cash or check. No cards accepted. Other than that, Longhorn is a hit with our family!

Now, under new ownership and after several visits, I can say the food is 5 star, top notch delicious. On the other hand, I do love a simple menu. However, I feel the balance of appetizers to sandwich options is off. And the lack of a beer menu at a bar with no taps to look at and choose from, it’s was disappointing to have to choose from my head and hope you had it, or get up and go look in the cooler.
