I have never ordered takeout from here. I was hoping on a Friday evening I would be able to order carryout but they have decided to take their phones off the hook. Maria’s restaurant did the same which is why I started looking at Lopez. This is a ridiculous thing to do for a restaurant. It’s not like Atchison has a lot and there is no restaurant in Lawrence or KC that would actually take their phone off the hook so they didn’t have to take carryout orders. This is absolutely absurd and a business killer especially on a Friday night, and because of this I will never eat there in any capacity. This town is absurd when it comes to restaurants and Lopez is no different. If you can’t figure out how to staff enough people to answer the phone, you need to shut your business down…just FYI. If this continues your potential customers might shut it down for you. Good luck attracting new customers, it’s gonna be tough ♥️

This place was very small, I had to squeeze through the table’s that people were already seated. As for the food I probably should have just went to Taco Bell. There were no Hispanics cooking the food. I thought this is fake Mexican restaurant. And we had to wait a long time for our food. One last comment the waitress was racist sense I picked up on this right away. I am more than half native American. And I will never come here again. So I should maybe skip Maria’s restaurant.

This was my first time eating at Lopez and I must say it was very good. I always judge a Mexican place by the salsa and I felt it had good flavor and spice. We even got the hotter salsa and it wasn’t overboard with heat wich was nice. The food we received was both good in flavor and in serving size. Will definitely eat there again next time we are in town.

The service was friendly and prompt! The food was fabulous…the enchiladas were so flavorful and served hot; the daily special mini nachos were great tasting!! The salsa was cold and the chips were warm! Best Mexican restaurant in the area!

I am from El Paso Tx, and I must say this is the best Mexican food outside my home, and I travel quite a bit. All the food has a home cook flavor. If you in the area and are craving homestyle mex food, stop by and have a sitting. I always try Mexican restaurant outside my home to see if they truly are authentic, and this place gets my 5 stars. I would give it more stars if we’re possible. A hidden gem.
