Food was bad. I ordered El Ambres. $16 and look what I got. “Maybe” lunch portion, but for that price, should have been a lot more food. Bacon was raw, food had no spices, and they gave me corn tortillas which were ratty with holes and no way to be usable. I wont go back.

My GOD, this is by far the MOST DELICIOUS Mexican food in the city! Even just the salsa is mind blowing compared to basically all other salsa I’ve ever had and the chips were clearly made there and were entirely fresh(this was at dinner time). For their mixed drinks and such they also DO NOT skimp on the alcohol and have awesome bartenders. I can not rave about this place enough, I mean I’m absolutely blown away. It’s heartbreaking that they don’t get more business because they definitely deserve it and everybody that passes this place up are robbing themselves of a PHENOMENAL dining experience. Some employees are brand new though, so pretty please be patient with them. They are having some renovations at the moment as well, but there’s still plenty of seating. Btw please excuse the pictures of partially eaten food, we couldn’t resist. My only real complaint is that they were out of some ingredients for some mixed drinks, but that’s hardly worth even mentioning.

Not impressed. We ordered through Grub Hub. The cheese dip was watered down about the consistency of milk. My fajitas looked like they didn’t even attempt to cook the chicken beyond maybe poaching it. The vegetables didn’t taste or appear like they had been cooked. It arrived without tortillas. All of the food was cold which made no sense because our driver got here very fast from time of pickup from the restaurant to my house.

Food was good. Service not so good as the waitress couldn’t understand English. Asked for a bowl of lemons for water and she brought and charged me for a lemonade drink. The couple with us ordered same thing and didn’t bring but one dish. Had a hard time getting her to understand.

Popped in here for a quick lunch. Service was OK and the food was all right. I had a burrito and a couple of corn steak tacos. Could use a little additional seasoning and maybe a little char in the steak but it was OK.

CHECK YOUR BILL! We have passed this restaurant many times and finally decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly enough and the food came out quickly and was temperature hot (although there were only 2 other people in the restaurant at the time). So far so good. We found the food in the “okay” column. It wasn’t anything special. The cheese was extremely salty. Usually, after trying a restaurant for the first time and not being overly excited about the food, we always return a second time to give them the benefit of doubt. That WILL NOT happen at Toluca Mexican Restaurant. When they brought the bill, the prices for every item we ordered was $3 to $5 more than what was indicated on the menu. When we questioned them about it, their reply was, “well, yes”. They made excuses about it not being lunch anymore plus we ordered a shrimp fajita and that cost more. Really. The menu item said shrimp fajita and had a price next to it. It said nothing about up charges. Don’t waste your time. The food is not that good and they rip you off on the bill!

Last time I ate here the food was wonderful, as well as the service, this time however was horrible. My order was wrong, which I would have dealt with if it was just one thing but I do not like lettuce and will not eat it! lol I dealt with the fact I ordered shrimp and got chicken but the lettuce ended it for me! No drinks were refilled , the whole time we were there, the food was brought out at considerably different times and the checks took forever! I get it if you are busy but it was only us and one more table! Plus they go ahead and add gratuity, so why worry about service! I tip well depending on service but don’t tell me what I am tipping because that is all you are getting!

My husband and I both ordered tacos and they were pretty good! We got chicken tacos and I always try the chicken itself anytime i go anywhere and the seasoning was on point, I also ordered spicy salsa on the side since I LOVE spiciness and the red one is super spicy compared to other restaurants.
