I wanted to like this so bad but honestly I don’t see myself going back. The fish in the Baja taco is a fish a stick that did not taste fresh, the refried beans in the burrito were too salty and lardy and the horchata ice cream tasted just like vanilla ice cream.

Horrible. Why I stayed, I’m not sure. The manager was incredibly incompetent. The staff had no idea what they were doing. There was an odor inside the restaurant as if it needed a good cleaning. We had to ask 3 times for drinks and accessories. Atmosphere? What Atmosphere? That should have been a red flag. There was nobody in there. My husband went in the back to use the bathroom and he saw the so-called manager sitting in a corner watching and laughing at tik tok videos. After using Yelp for several years ; this has to be the worst review I ever gave. I would give it zero stars if I could.

The five stars are for the server and the SERVER only! She did a wonderful job. English is not her first language, but she does her best to communicate and provide excellent service. I don’t know who the latino young adult male ( possibly the manager) is working , but y’all need to fire him or get him some training ASAP! He completely disrespected the server in front of customers telling her she was at fault for a customer’s mistake which I witnessed. The mistake was in FACT the customer fault! She did nothing wrong! She did all the steps of service correct and gave the wrong customer free burritos and a refund. The customer was upset about the price order AFTER HE PAID! Let that sink in. He hustled the business and manager let it happen and then blame the server.

This a nice restaurant, easily viewed from the street if you’re driving by. I had the taco salad with chicken. It tasted fresh, meaty and the dressing had a very pleasant tang. The chicken was very good quality, juicy and flavorful. I also had the horchata and it was light and creamy with lots of cinnamon. I noticed that they have beer choices in bottles and they have a children’s menu. I think I spied some high chairs as well. I dined al fresco as it was a gorgeous day in Oakland and lake Merritt was looking especially fetching. Parking is on the street but don’t let that deter you. It seems fairly easy and plentiful. A very nice, no frills, local Mexican place with good food and fast service.

Restaurant has been bought out. Menu seems the same but they lack many of the common “Mexican” foods. It was very loud with karaoke going on in background making it super hard to understand waitress. Super sad that my favorite nearby restaurant is not the same.

Salmon Burrito was ok until I found a long piece of brown hair in it It was March 28 this Sunday,I’ll never go back,don’t wanna risk some one else’s DNA in my food!You can see the hair coming from the black bean and ending up by the foil,unfortunately The other piece of hair was allready in my mouth when I noticed it,hopefully I don’t get sick,you would think the cook or who ever handling the food would wear a hair net,I strongly don’t recommend this taqueria
