Went out for a drive with a couple of friends on Monday of Memorial Day weekend and found this roadside bar & cafe. A bit of a wait in line, obviously a busy weekend for the restaurant and surrounding area. Was seated in about 45 minutes at a wobbly table in the middle of the restaurant near the performer’s stage and the music was good. Ordered a Black & Blue and received my food about 30 minutes later. The food does not disappoint. Well worth the wait. Left feeling very happy even with no alcohol consumption. Perfectly cooked burger, french fries, as well as the shared onion rings, and the shared deep fried mushrooms.I will definitely make this a place to bring friends that are from out of state. Great ambiance, definitely eclectic, and the antique Cutler-Hammer/Eaton Electrical panel in the men’s restroom was classic!

Loved our dinner here. Came on a busy Saturday night and still got good service and the food came out quickly. The green chile cheese fries were the some of the best I’ve ever had. The fries were crispy and the green chile sauce was perfect. Subbed a veggie patty in a tortilla burger, it was good but a little dry, could have used a good sauce on it or any sauce for that matter. My partner loved his bean burrito and mentioned how perfect the pinto beans were. The green and red chile both have meat in them. Not sure if they have a veggie chile option but if there isn’t, I hope they offer it soon. Loved the rustic feel of the place. We’ll definitely stop again.

Went after the hot springs and with big appetite comes big responsibilities.

If you’re anywhere near Santa Fe or Albuquerque, make a scenic side trip to Jemez Springs to have a meal at Los Ojos! Such a great setting in the Jemez mountains and the restaurant itself is the classic example of the “old west” vibe. But they back it up with absolutely great burgers and New Mexican green chile specialties. If you go once, you’ll immediately start planning your next visit!

We made a reservation for 1:15 as a group of 8 on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t busy when we came in but BOY were there issues.

You can’t beat the atmosphere at this place. The walls of this old western style bar are decorated floor to ceiling with animal hides, firearms, and witty signs.

This is quite the unique place. It is a bit dark and full of very western, frontier type atmosphere. Food was decent. My smothered burger was great. My wife’s prime rib was way overdone. Staff were friendly enough. Seems this is a fav spot for the locals. Crazy thing is this — when you step out the front door and off the porch — you are only 3 or 4 feet from the main highway through town! The restaurant is essentially on the “shoulder” of the road. Weird.

Great old school bar and restaurant tucked in the valley. The atmosphere is great and its a wonderful stop if you’re camping in the area. They do charge $3 for guac and $3 for sour cream if your order any food, just a heads up.

Edit: came back to the Ojos a year later and the chili cheese fries are still damn delicious. Upgrading to 5 stars bc we were able to sit in front of the roaring fireplace this time, and the bartender served me rock candy with my old fashioned.

This classic New Mexico saloon and restaurant glows with authenticity and charm from its 75 years as the Jemez Mountains’ community watering hole and unofficial town meeting place. It’s a family-friendly must-visit on any trip through the Jemez… the most true wild-west saloon you can find in the Land of Enchantment. Always a great place to relax both in the heat of the summer but also when the weather gets chilly and they blaze their massive fireplace and this place becomes a beacon of warmth and coziness. I always enjoy their Famous Jemez burger… yes, like this dish, this place is the most famous and celebrated establishment in the Jemez Mountains. It defines community and local history. Los Ojos IS Jemez Springs.
