About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Ordered large deep dish and taste was good. However, I was disappointed with the big gap between meet and crust edge. Looks like they didn’t put enough meat, cheese and sauce on this pizza. Definitely not how it supposed to be.

2/2022 5* Have had pizza here before that was not up to our standards. But that was because the Sausage was pieces. This time we did the slab sausage and it was awesomely better! Curbside service was outstanding!

Has gotten very overpriced. Got a small crustless with 2 toppings. Very under cooked in the middle and burnt at the edges canceled my salad before hand because the total was 41 dollars. After it got figured out 28. Tried calling back to talk to someone sat on hold for 10 minutes and hung up. Very disappointed is a home town pizza. Got very commercialized.

Pizza is always 10/10! Friendly staff. Best deep dish pizza ever!!!!! Pasta and salads are great too, especially the meat sauce.

“Lou’s” is a Chicago staple. 99% of the branches deliver the high quality you expect with the name Lou Malnati’s. While I am a bigger fan of their Pan Styled pizza over their thin crust, I urge you to try the cannoli dip for desert. The cinnamon chips they provide with it are awesome!

Our order was for delivery. It came on time and the driver was very polite and a pleasant to talk to. On the other hand, the food was not hot. We had ordered the deep dish and wings. The pizza was warm and the wings were so so. Taste, not as good as it used to be. The sausage was very thin and not much cheese or mozzarella. The cost is above others for what you get. Sorry Lou, 3 stars is all that I can warrant at this time.
