About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Have you ever had deep dish pizza? If not, this is the place to go. They have some very tasty deep dish pizza. I had mine with sausage and jalapeños and let me tell you, the jalapeños packed a punch. This Northbrook location is also across the street from a park, so you can enjoy your pizza under the shade of a tree. Grab a drink and makie it a picnic!

During a family trip we were recommended to try Lou Malnati’s so we ordered takeout spaghetti and lasagna. both were delicious and the garlic bread was also amazing. Wish we could have tried the pizza but it wasn’t in the cards for this time.

Oh.my.word!!!!!!! So good. Have had a lot of Chicago style pizza, but this one stands out. Pastry type of crust, just the right amount of toppings, and the SAUCE….fresh and delicious! Highly recommend!

We’ve eaten 4 times here, and 3 of them were not great experiences. Specifically, the deep dish Lou, in which the tomatoes absolutely soak through the box, and in which the toppings are all squished to one side. We finally made a complaint. Corporate got back to us very quickly, stating that the Northbrook location would address our concerns, but the Northbrook location never got back to us. Tried again, and once again, never got back to us. Poor food and poor service then, won’t be visiting again.
