I was driving on I-55 and got off at the exit for Crystal Springs for gas. I looked up restaurants and saw Louise Open Pit Barbeque. I do love BBQ. I am glad I got off the highway when I did. I ordered the full slab of ribs and a side of baked beans. Only had some of the baked beans. Not because I did like them. I did. When I got to eating the ribs. Let’s just say that it was hard to stop eating them!!!! Meaty flavorful ribs. Louise BBQ pit is the true side of road restaurant that you want and need to stop at. You and taste the hard work that is put into their ribs.

We had the burgers, and they were great! The baked beans were really good, too. The coleslaw at first bite wasn’t that great, but I’ll say that I have had worse coleslaw. The service was excellent. We had a very friendly waiter, who updated on the prices – they’re getting new ones and listed prices were wrong. Think old-school greasy spoon when you walk in; no frills or chills. But if I find myself hungry and in Crystal Springs again, I will eat there again. Maybe try their seafood.

The food here is legit. Probably the best bbq ribs I’ve ever tried. It’s a very popular lunch spot for the locals. The ribs taste amazing, I will definitely go back there for their delicious ribs. The interior is cool too, old school with a country feel to it. The walls are decorated with old photos and old farm tools.

Great pork steak! Setting is old style restaurant with country feel. Nothing fancy at this place but the food and service were great. The BBQ sauce is almost clear and has a nice tang and spice to it. Meat was very tender and tasty. French fries were crispy and fresh tasting. Baked beans were thick and and a nice smoke flavor to them. The server was very friendly and helpful. She even brought me a sample out to taste before ordering. I highly recommend!!

I ordered fried shrimp and they were soggy in the inside and bland, my fries weren’t done and my salad was watery and soggy they put the ranch on there and put way to much on it. I tried calling to see if I could bring it back but it was close to closing so I’m sure that’s why no one answered
