This restaurant came as a recommendation from a friend and the food was just as good as they said it was! I had a hard time with menu choices because there was too many to choose from. All the food was great and our waitress was on top of her game. The view is amazing also of the airport and being able to go outside on the deck and eat in the open air was unheard of at any airport!

This place is amazing! I’ve lived in NC for 8 years and this place is hands down the best BBQ Food I’ve eaten since I been here. Huge portions, Great Selections, Excellent Tasting Food, Bar Area, Very Clean, Super Friendly Service, Awesome Atmosphere right on the small airport grounds. Views from in the restaurant or on the huge outdoor patio area of the runway, and parked planes area. We saw several planes land and take off while we were there. Super cool experience. Right beside/above the runway at Johnston Regional Airport! They gave fantastic portion sizes and delicious smoked meat choices. There was plenty left over for at least another meal or 2 at home. The dining room and observation deck/patio were both uncrowded and very clean with friendly, not pestery, staff. But the best-best part was watching the small planes land and take-off up close. What an inspired idea!

Tasty bbq and great smells. A really fun dinner experience for my son and I. Our server (Abby) was super friendly, helpful, and kind. And a great bonus…my son got to watch planes take off, land, and get fueled up. I don’t eat meat often but this was worth it. Brisket was tender…most of the ribs were tender and the sausage was juicy and smoked well!!!. Cornbread was okay. Mac and cheese was good but I like mine super cheesy…but it’s not just noodles and cheese sauce.. so I appreciated that. The sweet potato casserole was delicious. They give you free pork rinds while you wait. We had the peach cobbler. It was a different style than I’m used to but homemade and tasty. The crusty was like a buttery sweet cake. I’ll be back!

Great little secret spot that’s not so secret anymore! The food is absolutely delish! Staff is wonderful! The view is fun watching airplanes take off and land constantly. Lovely little place! Food is a tad pricey, but SO worth it!

A hidden gem! We were recommended to check out the Low and Slow Smokehouse, even though there aren’t many vegetarian options, somewhat understandably – it is a smokehouse, afterall, and known for meat. We went for breakfast, and I had a veggie omelette, which was okay. What really stands out is the awesome service – everyone was so nice. The decor and surroundings were really cool. The atmosphere on a Saturday morning was quiet, I think it was just us and one other table. Indoor and outdoor seating practically on the runway. You can see planes coming and going, especially if you sit near the windows. There wasn’t a ton of plane action going on while we were there, but I’d definitely go back to see more. Overall, great setting and people. The food was okay, but I look forward to going back for the experience, and to share that with friends and family.

I had heard a lot about this location and the food. Experience was great! However, what we ate did not meet expectations. Since it was lunch, we chose brisket sandwiches. Everything BUT the brisket was good. Brisket was not sliced but “pulled” and it was very, very dry. Sauce did help, but didn’t “heal.”
