I have no clue why people have rated this place so high! It literally is one of the saddest restaurants as far as ambiance. Upon entry, the carpet alone made me want to follow Lucille herself right off the second story balcony (will get to that at the end). Looking around the place at the customers, I felt like I was at a 1970 church revival. The menu was expansive, and the special was a $12.99 prime rib with two sides. I decided to go for it even though a prime rib should never be under $20-30 in my opinion or I will assume something is severely wrong with it. My friends reminded me it’s a casino so they are trying to draw people in with cheap prices. Fair point. Speaking of friends they got the surf n turf and the hamburger. Listen. The prime rib was actually slightly better than the cheap price. My friends said the burger was “fine” and the surf n turf was “below average”.

One of the worse days. Playing at my favorite casino and be presented with this nasty food. I ordered a cesar salad, and right after I wanted to order my so thought delicious meal. When I tried to order, I was told new rules are you can only order one entree. I was not aware my salad was an entree???? The waiter didn’t care if I was aware or not. So then I ordered my chicken wings, uncooked, fried to reflect hell, and when cutting through it, blood was gushing out ugghhh… nasty. Do not recommend this place at all. And the salad, well … you can just see from the actual pics.

Make sure you ask for ALL the rules before ordering anything here. Don’t just read the sign that says to go orders aren’t valid with comps. I sat down and ordered a prime rib dinner, she brought the horribly limp salad first, then forgot one of my sides. When asking for a to go box, they refused saying I hadn’t eaten at least half of the food, (I think I was about 8 years old last time someone told me how much I HAD to eat) and with no idea if I was paying or using a comp. The prime rib was so salty, mashed potatoes are like hospital food. After a few more bites, she finally gave me a to go box, when getting to the register, they actually made me open the to go box to inspect how much I ate. At that point there was no way I was paying out of pocket for this sub par meal, so I went back to the table, then had to go get my own silverware to eat a few more bites, upon returning to the register, they had the casino manager there waiting, who also wanted to inspect the to go box to see how much I ate. I finally passed their requirements and was allowed to use my comp, which was earned by spending a lot more than the $16 they wanted to charge me. Don’t go here unless you’re really hungry for bad food.

Like many people, I swung by the Gilpin to grab a bite at Lucille Malone’s because of it’s interesting history. The staff was great and the food and drinks were priced perfect! Would have no issues going back.

It was really busy for a Monday, but it was a holiday. They didn’t have enough wait staff, and the hostess had to keep coming into the dining room to see what tables were available. Trying to get the servers’ attention was difficult as he was busy with the whole dining room. There were 2-3 guys clearing tables and a few food expiditors. The food was a bit boring as well.

Went for Thanksgiving dinner, and ordered the prime rib dinner. I asked a waitress before hand is the prime rib dinner good, filling, and a lot of food because I was hungry,..AND ITS THANKSGIVING,,and she assured me that it was..(LIES!!)..It came with a side salad that clearly was made before hand because the lettuce was pressed down, and flat to the plate from saran wrap and being stacked with other salads, and day before “freshly” made.., the lettuce is cut into shreds and ready for the taco bar with transparent cucumber slices and tiny cherry tomatoes. Then I got my prime rib dinner…oh boy.. I ordered mashed potatoes and green beans for my sides, and it comes with a roll..so.. the green beans are from a frozen bag..they gave a tiny amount that had ZERO seasoning ZERO flavor ZERO effort into preparing them..the mashed potatoes are scooped with a ice cream scoop onto the plate and the brown gravy covers it and you can’t see the potatoes.. again small amount of potatoes ,,..the roll is from a bag and heated in a microwave with everything else they serve. The prime rib was ok..but not very big. I was still hungry after the baby portions they served me. The restaurant is dim lit and FULL OF OLD PEOPLE ..omg I thought I was in a haunted retirement home. I think they cater to the elderly SO MUCH that they forgot they are a restaurant.. because the way the food is, looks, tastes, says a lot. Nothing they serve is from a chef..it’s all frozen and heated up. They need to step it up because the disappointment I felt was overwhelming and the food was underwhelming. I almost feel like they don’t bring in enough revenue to serve fresh CHEF MADE food and are barely getting by..so they probably have some dude wearing a bandana working in the kitchen that smells like cigarettes wiping his nose with his apron making the food cause that’s the type food they serve..don’t get the fish fry…it was frozen also ..oh but the elderly love it saying they don’t have taste buds anymore .

I recently ate at Lucille Malone’s, located inside the Gilpin Casino. The shrimp cocktail, onion rings, steak and lobster tail, and French dip were all excellent, and the beers were a perfect accompaniment. The service was also top-notch. Overall, I had a great dining experience at Lucille Malone’s and would highly recommend it to others

Great service. Great atmosphere. Great vibes. LeeAnn the hostess/ waitress was outstanding. The prime rib practically melted in my mouth. You owe it to yourself and your appetite to go there. It was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Shout out to the chef for a perfectly seasoned steak. Even shout out to David the cashier who had me cracking up…Bon Appetit!
