Fish this trip was a massive improvement over the last time we were there. The last time the fish was thin and more breading than fish. This time it was amazing. Actually felt like I was eating fish versus chips.

Great dine in experience in rural Mississippi. Great Cajun catfish fingerlings for my husband and litely battered butterfly shrimp for me. Sides were fresh and tasty and portions were generous. We even got to go refills on our beverages. A great find in the small town!!

My wife and I went last night for the first time, and I’m sorry to say, I wasn’t impressed. After driving an hour, I had my heart on a great ribeye. Well, my “16” oz ribeye was at least 8 ounces of fat. I told the manager/owner and he didn’t seem overly concerned. He said there’s no way, I cut all of the steaks personally. I told him to go look at my plate. No apology was even offered!!!!! Had it not been for a $25 gift certificate, that I had won a couple of months ago, I would have had an issue paying $28 for a hunk of fat. Most likely won’t be going back.

Have to admit I’m biased as it’s close to home and I’ve known the owner for life. With that said, I’ve regularly driven to other fish houses up to 80 miles away for good fish before he opened. I NEVER go anywhere else now. The fillets are as good or better than I’ve ever had anywhere. Service is great, the place is clean, it’s everything you could want. And try the tarter sauce! I don’t eat the stuff. There are only 2 catfish places that I’ll eat the tarter sauce in this country. Luckey’s Fish House is one…..
