Service was outstanding and presentation good, but food was overall a little bland. Everything I had needed salt desperately, the crème brûlée was gritty and the top not nearly caramelized enough. The bread in the bread basket was great and the mixed drink I tried was good.

Having now been to a Luckys in Montecito and now in Malibu. I almost prefer the one in Montecito. The layout is not crammed hard to walk between tables and had more than 2 restrooms. There was a literal line here at Malibu with 3 people waiting. I took a star off from food because of the creme Brule. It was warm and curdled. Filet Steak was delicious cooked perfectly and cannot say enough about their peppercorn sauce. Restaurant also charged a corkage fee typically above the average at $45. Meanwhile while pouring wine server spilled some of the wine.

$80 fillet mignon covered in a mediocre sauce, I hate when restaurants do this why mask the taste of a good cut of meat?. Everything else was okay, not great. I prefer Nobu or Malibu farm. But if you want to pay $$$ for food you can make at home then this is your place.

They did a great job recreating the vibe from the original location in Montecito while still maintaining its own distinct sense of place. Cozy quarters, but you don’t feel cramped. The bar area is small, so feel lucky if you’re able to belly up with some friends. Food quality was on point, as was the service. Staff was friendly, attentive, and courteous. Bathrooms are single occupancy, so I can imagine a decent line forming on a busy night.

A terrific atmosphere. Everything you’d want from a Malibu eatery. Averick took great care of my friend and I at the bar. He’s a true professional who gave us insight on the area and local recommendations. The calamari is a must. Would definitely come back here.

Our server couldn’t have been better- not vegan friendly, but their Matzoh Ball soup is perfect for colder nights on the beach! I also had the artichoke and shared the French Fries- the atmosphere was casual- jeans are fine. Easy and classic- highly recommend.
