There’s just not a thing wrong with this place. This was the best food I’ve had in my 3 years as a transplant. I’m so glad after a day of swiping through Nola influencer posts, my husband landed on Lufu for our 4yr Anniversary date night. We were treated so well, had a front row seat to the kitchen view, and the food was indescribable.. I don’t think there’s a wrong option on the menu but I had the FALL OFF THE BONE lamb. I literally don’t think I ever touched the thing with my actual fork, I just effortlessly slurped it all up somehow. I can’t wait for the staff to know me on a first name basis. Our waiter was amazing and helpful and a star hostess. The manager was clearly a positive light on the place and even treated us to an anniversary surprise. I’m just blown away and promised I’d leave a review.

Beautiful restaurant in a great location, I love the sound of the streetcar going by! The curry colada available as both a cocktail and mocktail is absolutely delicious. The food can not be beat, best Indian cuisine in the city. A beautiful array of meat & meatless options so full of flavor, good luck choosing!

Everything was delicious. The service was attentive, patient, and kind. It’s refreshing to have a restaurant in New Orleans that is delicious and not trying to recreate their Grand Mother’s Gumbo.

I’ve followed LUFU’s popups for a while and was excited for them to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant. We went for lunch and it exceeded expectations in every way. The menu is an excellent mix of authentic and creative Indian dishes, some with Louisiana twists; a great example of this was the tamarind blood mary, which was the best I’ve EVER had. Every dish was so unique, well-plated, boldly-flavored, and just perfect.

After a frustrating typical downtown New Orleans parking experience, Lufu completely changed the mood of our day with their great lunch dishes. We started off with the Maharani Mango Lassi and the Desi Girl Spritz as our drinks. Both were very enjoyable, refreshing, and paired greatly with our meal. We then had the Butter Chicken Wings, which were beautifully cooked and flavorful, and the Chicken Tikka Masala Naanwhich, which was also quite enjoyable with the mint chutney paired with it. Lastly, we finished our meal with the G.O.A.T. Biryani. It was also very flavorful, the yogurt sauce was an excellent addition to round out the flavors of the dish, and the garlic naan was a great side item to eat with it. We ordered everything with the Indian spice level, which I would like some additional heat added to it, personally. However, it was an overall excellent experience from the decor, silverware, and service to the drinks and food. The creativity of the drinks and food was amazing and executed very well. I would love to see this place in a more convenient location perhaps in the future, but I would not mind going through a parking hassle to eat there again.

This place is Amazing! The food is some of the most flavorful food I’ve ever had. If I lived here I’d be here once a week. Service was also perfect and the owner checked on us more than once! 100 stars out of 5

I highly recommend this place! We went an hour before they closed on a Sunday. Despite this, the service was phenomenal. The owner even came and chatted with us for a little and asked us about how the food was. The food was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in New Orleans. As recommended by the waitstaff, we got the Dhahi Ke Kebab for the appetizer. It was excellent. For the main course we got Garlic Naan, Daal Makhni, and Paneer Bhurji. We also got the mango lassi. Every single item we ordered was really flavorful and tasted really great. I was really impressed! We had a great time here, and we will definitely be back.

We had a great time at LUFU last night. The drinks and food were delicious and the service was excellent. One of the owners came to check on us twice, first to introduce himself, and then to make sure we enjoyed our meal. One of the members of our party has celiac and the waiter was really careful about pointing out the gluten free options on the menu. Since we were a group of five, we tried lots of different things on the menu and all were tasty. I especially loved the Pani Poori that I ordered (what a beautiful presentation!), and the sauce for the Angara Chicken was phenomenal. The base spice level is high, so be careful if you are sensitive to spicy foods.
