Haven’t posted a review in ages because I had switched to iPhone, but I had to come and post a review on Luisa Cocina Mexicana. It used to be Paloma’s Mexican Cuisine and I will always love them, but the new business is on point with their selection. The guacamole with pancetta is amazing, and you can have it spicy or mild. If you don’t want to have pancetta you can have the traditional guac without it. The pork belly tacos, whether it’s in al pastor mode or with the Chicharron de Queso, are my go to favs, but the mole Colorado is to die for. I have never had Mole before, but if it’s as good as in Luisa’s then you guys HAVE to come and try it here. Their horchata is so good, the service was attentive, friendly, and not too bad on the eyes . Along with the feel of intimacy due to it being a small restaurant, I believe it’s a perfect place for a date night or to come with friends. The only reason I haven’t talked about the alcoholic choices there is because I don’t drink, but my friends have complimented the sangrias and the margaritas. Just come and try it out. You will not be disappointed.

Just amazing food and service!! Please eat local. The Camarones are just phenomenal if you like spice and the ceviche is a nice twist with the coconut milk. Best place for a date night!!!

Had a great experience at the recently opened Luisa (March 2023). Starting with the Queso Fundido with Chorizo (melted cheese heaven), then Pork Belly Tacos with crispy cheese (some of the best tacos I’ve had in NYC), and ending with the Shrimp Enchiladas that were excellent. Add to that the friendly and efficient service from the owner. Minimalistic restaurant with delicious Mexican food, will be returning soon!

Formally Paloma’s, Luisa Cocina Mexicana brings an updated name and menu to the existing, fantastic flavors of this Ridgewood staple (though technically in Bushwick, based on the side of the street it’s on). The Queso Fundido de Chorizo and Shrimp Enchiladas are two classics off the previous menu that continue to delight. A new item, the Pork Belly Tacos, were some of the best tacos I’ve had in NYC, across any of the five boroughs. Add in the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and attentive service, and you’ve got a true hidden gem that could only exist in a neighborhood like Ridgewood, in a city like New York. Glad to see the new name hasn’t changed an old favorite ❤️

Woah, this place is a hidden gem. Went for dinner and had the guacamole, chicken mole and fajitas and it was absolutely incredible. We live in the area so I will absolutely be back and will bring friends here. The mole was some of the best I’ve had and the service was excellent. A great meal all around.

Luisa’s is my new favorite restaurant! I had my first meal there in April and have been back many times since. The Mole Colorado and Pescado a la Talla were to die for – so yummy. The service is excellent and the vibe is great too. I’ll be back soon for sure.

Awesome food as always. I have been going here since it was Paloma’s and let me tell you that the food is always fresh and awesome. No matter what you order you won’t be disappointed. Obviously everyone has their own taste buds. But this is the best Mexican restaurant hands down in Ridgewood/Brooklyn. Have some sangria and let me know how it goes after the 3rd one. Lol cheers

You can always count on having delicious, scratch made food here. I haven’t had anything that I haven’t loved. Sangria is the absolute best I’ve had and the service and atmosphere is wonderful. Can’t say enough good things!
