Luna Restaurant is a small restaurant in the village of Lake Placid. We recently dined there for the second time and the food and service were just as good as the first time we went two years ago. The marinara sauce is delicious! The portions are generous too.

Luna Restaurant was a great stop for lunch on our trip to Lake Placid. We were walking by after kayaking on the lake and the sign with lunch specials on the sidewalk caught our eye. We were seated quickly. I ordered the lunch special- half a turkey and ham sandwich and a bowl of cheddar broccoli soup and my husband had the fish sandwich. Both were delicious! The service was great! And the prices were very good.

I went to Luna Restaurant for Father Day dinner. The staff is very friendly and the food is awesome. French Onion soup is a must try. Fried calamari is soft and tender. The atmosphere is very comfortable. I will definitely return when I am at Lake Placid.

Second visit and very enjoyable. Both times we have been here the service has been excellent. Very friendly, very fast. We had two of the specials – baked seafood and chicken with mozzarella and red peppers on pasta. Both dishes were great and good sized portions. They also bring out warm bread with a garlic/olive oil dip and provide a salad as well. Generous pours when you order a glass of wine. Luna continues to be on our list of restaurants we regularly visit when we come to Lake Placid.

We were very quickly met at the door and seated without a reservation. There is no snow around in February so the restaurants are empty now. The dining area is filled with large art works in a rather modest and cosy environment. The onion soup was very tasty and well balanced in flavor. The spinish was cooked well. The seared tuna was quite generous but the combination of seaweel and avacado did not go together well. All in all, a good meal with good service.

Update: we notified the server of a severe gluten allergy and we had to bring our friend to the emergency room. When we called to notify the restaurant they dodged us and said “how do you know it was our food?”

Nice decor inside, staff was courteous and friendly. Food was spectacular, even for the kids. Dessert was scrumptious, if Luna was open in our Long Island town we would go once a week. Probably the best restaurant in Lake Placid.
