I have visited Gainesville periodically over the past two years and have frequented Luna’s for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant is split into two areas that are across the hall from each other. I enjoy both sides but for me the more casual side is so much fun as there’s typically live music playing. It’s a feel good atmosphere with leather sofas, a fireplace, a nice bar, even a small dance floor area. There’s always good daily specials for both lunch and dinner (both sides have the same menu) and the main menu offers a nice variety. But if you don’t see something you want, owner Juan Luna, will undoubtedly be delighted to create something for you. Juan always greets absolutely everyone with a warm smile and embrace, it’s one reason the food is so reliably good because it’s made with love! Travis typically waits on me and always has a smile and remembers what I like to drink. Actually, all the employees there are kind and obviously treated well. The bathroom is always immaculate (I can only speak for the women’s lol). I’ve been for dinner on the casual side while special events have taken place on the more formal side. Luna’s is capable of hosting the likes of the local cotillion dinner to executive bank dinners. It’s by far my favorite restaurant in Gainesville. I highly recommend Luna’s. It’s really a 10 out of five stars!!!

Great restaurant! Upscale atmosphere with very nice food selections. The ribeye is absolutely wonderful. We also had the snapper and it was delicious as well. Cheesecake for dessert is a great pick!

First visit. Great atmosphere, I love a quiet intimate dinner. Service was very good. We both ordered the Luna’s-Hatfield Creation. It’s a 4 course chef inspired tasting menu. Basically the chef surprises you with each course. Very neat concept. The food was good, not the greatest but good. Not on my list of places to visit again however.

Our family of 4 has been coming to Luna’s for over 2 years, since we moved to the area, and love this gem of a restaurant! We appreciate the variety on the menu, the food is always on point, service is wonderful, Mr Luna is such an amazing owner who cares about his patrons and his staff as we have witnessed throughout our visits. An abundance of new restaurants have come to town in the last year, we have tried them, but find Luna’s beats all!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant in Gainesville! They’ve got everything spot on – from the perfectly cooked steak and veggies to the top-notch service that deserves a solid 5 stars. It’s a gem with a great selection of food, wine, and beer. If you’re in the area, this place is a definite must-visit. The atmosphere is upscale and they’ve nailed it with dishes like the amazing ribeye and delicious snapper. Oh, and don’t miss out on the cheesecake for dessert – it’s a winner!

Food was amazing. We sat on the Bar side because the formal dining room was empty on a Wednesday evening. I expect the atmosphere on formal side is top notch. We just wanted to be around people and the live piano music was really nice. It was a biz dinner this time but I definitely want to take my sweetie there for a date night sometime.

Perusing the menu I chose the Iceberg Wedge, which was fresh and crisp and loaded with complimenting flavors. Not a bleu cheese fan but this was delicious. The perfectly cooked 8oz. Filet mignon, topped with bearnaise sauce, the loaded potato cake and fried lobster tail were excellent. The vegetables were hot and crisp. The presentation was very nice, highlighting the lobster tail. The filet was cooked to perfection and the lobster as well. The warm melted butter for dipping complimented the lobster. I ordered the light and tasty Tiramasu for dessert to wrap up a delicious meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere and decor here. The service was very good. I highly recommend this establishment for a memorable fine dining experience.

Surprisingly delightful cuisine well presented. The trout was superb and my lady loved her shrimp and grits. Live entertainment while you eat in the more casual piano bar room, or go for fancy in the fine dining room across the courtyard — same menu in both. Will return.

We are rarely in Gainesville, but we’re in town for an artist talk. The staff at the Quinlan recommended Lunas. Friendly place with attentive staff. I had the ribeye and it was pure steak perfection. The wine list is also nice. I would go there again if I’m ever in that part of the world again.

Food was good. But it was our first time to the restaurant and it was a Monday night, they were very slow at acknowledging us to be seated.
