It was great celebrating my cousin’s birthday at Luquin’s 454. It was our first time here but not our first time at Luquin’s. We’re from Pahoa and eat frequently at their restaurant there, as well as the original. We were happy to discover that we can get the same delicious food and excellent drinks at their newest facility.

This is a 4.5 rating. I will eat here again. The service, atmosphere, Impressive. The visual appeal can possibly use some improvement. The food I ordered was a bit on the dry side yet tasty. I appreciated the first order of free chips and salsa. Great salsa.

I’ve been here twice and I was not very impressed. When you’ve had authentic mexican food americanized mexican tastes somewhat bland. This place does stay busy though! Probably a good place to get a drink depending on the bar tender ♂️

Food was delicious. Very busy place so try to be there for an early dinner . It is quite crowded and tables are pretty close to others. Not like their old Luquins (where you sat in booths )they had in Pahoa before it got burnt down . So when it’s crowded its quite noisy for conversations . Server was very busy so it took some time before she came for our order. But food came pretty fast, nice and hot. Parking gets filled up pretty fast too. So you want to eat and pretty much leave so others can get in to enjoy a Mexican meal too

Went on a Saturday night around 415 with a party of 8. Was very busy said it would be around 45 min wait. Waited the 45min+. Host gave us the option to take 2 separate tables and we took it since there wasn’t a lot of table turnover happening. The service was decent considering how busy they were but can be improved. The food was what I expected and left everyone full and happy. There isn’t a kids menu but they do have burgers and quesadillas which worked for our kids. There is a large bar in front that probably seats 8-10. Also, there weren’t any happy hour specials at this location currently. Overall super happy that Hilo has another option for Mexican cuisine. Would definitely recommend unless you’re on a time crunch and don’t want to wait.

For Hilo, this place is legit. The enchiladas are a must. Carnitas or shrimp. The Luquin enchilada sauce is flavorful and compliments this dish. Also try carnitas nachos. The fajitas are ok. Will return!

Classic Luquins flavor. Big bar with great bartenders. Shout out to Nicole! Her drinks are the best. The dining area is larger than Pahoa. Service is the same excellent quality. Lili is a wonderful waitress! Glad to have a 2nd location!

Had one of the best dining experiences including some of the most delicious food on the island last Thursday at Liquin’s 454 Hilo. We sat at the bar and the 3 bartenders were so much fun and worked together so awesomely and smoothly. (Didn’t catch all of their names) Also probably the best margaritas on the island for sure.

We really enjoyed food here. We had strict diet needs and they were helpful with menu selection. Service was quick even during busy time.

Hilo long term local here 🙂 Having tried all known ‘Mexican restaurants’ here….besides the real deal Mexican food carts in town…this is the next best thing. Lot’s of flavor in the bones of the food. Best out of all the other local restaurants that are similar. Worth a try for sure!!
