We came across this shop by accident and were pleasantly impressed with the shop, service, and food.

Lu Sandwich offers an authentic taste of Vietnam with their delicious Banh Mi, especially cold cut. Each bite takes me back to the flavors of my hometown. The ham pâtés and mouthwatering mayo create a truly enjoyable combination. The restaurant provides ample space for a comfortable dining experience. Don’t forget to try their Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, a strong and awakening beverage. Their service was fast and friendly. Love coming back regularly.

Food is great as always but the venue needs a facelift. The glass front door was shattered and had plywood on it as a fix. Inside felt kinda shady.

Love the remodel, it feels even more inviting. Also had the pleasure of finally trying their salad bowl – it’s delicious and 10.50 for basically 2 meals worth, it’s a steal! This place never misses.

One of the best bahn mi sandwiches I’ve ever had. Don’t skip the spicy fish sauce.

This place is delish. I had previously had their catering before and it was really good. I finally made my way to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. They are super fast and make it right in front of you. Sandwich’s are great. I also really like their egg rolls and spring rolls. Everyone working was super friendly as well!

Best Banh Mi sandwiches in the midwest and I don’t even care for Banh Mi. I’m from 3hrs away but everytime I’m in the twin cities I have to get Lu’s. Just the right amount of meat, veggies, liver paste and mayo. The Special Ham and Cold Cut are my go to. I like mine with extra meat. Just my honest opinion. Only thing I can complain about is parking. You have to either find parking on the street or park behind in the alley and it’s not a very big parking lot. The Niccollet location is the one I go to.

Lu’s is one of my absolute favorite places! I always go back and forth between the tofu and mock duck banh mi, but after having them side by side I give the slightest edge to mock duck (I was so excited to eat them I forgot to take photos). The spring rolls were similarly excellent. I got the peanut sauce and think that was the right option for me in the moment. The fried sesame balls were a little tough this last time I went, but still enjoyable and highly recommended by yours truly.

Severely underrated place. One of the most amazing sandwiches in Minneapolis. The combinations are great. Also I generally don’t prefer tofu sandwiches, but the tofu option is amazing here as well. A definite to do item in Minneapolis. Should have 5 stars.

With its fresh baked bread, inviting atmosphere, and reasonable prices, Lu’s stands out as one of the best places for a bahn mi in the Twin Cities.
