We’ve been to so many Mexican restaurants throughout the desert. Yes, many are higher end and more trendy, but if you want the best down to earth, home style Mexican, this is the best spot. It’s a little run down, but who really cares. It’s all about the food and this place is fantastic. The Molcajete is spicy and addictive.

Macarios has been a favorite of ours for many years but last night was a disaster. Reservations for 6:30. Very rude hostess when we arrived ten minutes early. (When reservations were made we were told to be early) Three of our guests were served at 8:00. Two others were told (at serve time) the kitchen was out of what they ordered. Re order was served. (Wrong dish) One entree was never served. Busy season and unfortunately staffing issues are common. Understandable. However this dinner with out of town guests was absolutely the worst dining experience ever. Not sure what has happened to our great little spot!

Great authentic Mexicanfood and the music is great. I saw pictures that show that this restaurant and the adjacent property used to be a resort. I’m sure the furniture is from that era. It’s a bit pricey but I guess you have to pay for the music so oh well

We tried Campechana (seafood cocktail) , Camapechana Galicia, and combination plate with beef enchiladas. All were delicious but Campechana and Campapechana Galicia was incredibly delicious!!! My coworker in Los Angeles who is a Latin decent recommended me this place and he was right!!! You cannot miss this restaurant if you like Mexican food. The best Mexican food I’ve ever had in California.

The food was good, but the best part of this restaurant was the live musician. He was GREAT! Super talented guitarist. He played the oldies and classic songs. Something for everyone to enjoy. Plenty of parking.
