Macleod’s is a bar with pub food right on Ballard Ave on the corner. Parking around here can be tough since it’s such a busy area so be prepared to walk. They have dozens of tables inside, but on the main floor and upstairs as well as about a dozen tables outside. They have a small menu, but have a few more items during happy hour between 4pm-6pm. They’re known for their whiskey and scotch collection, so get a flight if possible. Their food is OK, nothing mind blowing but I’d say a little on the pricey end foe the portion size you get. The staff is good too, friendly and quick with service.

Love this place! I come at least once a month for their fish tacos. The spicy ancho sauce they serve with them is amazing. Super friendly, great outdoor and indoor space. Great whisky menu

5/5 for location, decor and the vibe. 5/5 for good presentation. 3/5 on the food itself. Bread to fish proportion was way off – had 3 bites of breading before I got to my fish. They were out of halibut so we got cod – pretty bland. I’ve been on a serious fish n chips kick lately so we’ve been trying all the recommended spots. Not my fave by any means. The chips were pretty mushy, not very crispy at all. Sadly I won’t be back and I don’t recommend given the $$$$. Go for a happy hour but you’re not missing anything when it comes to full size.

The fish is cooked fantastically, soft flaky inside with an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There are non-alcoholic drink options, however they are prepared by just not adding in the alcoholic ingredients. A great spot for a whiskey and a quick bite to eat.

I’ve been to Scotland many times and constantly try to find a bar here in the US that will give me a similar experience to that of one there. This is the best Scottish bar one can ever go to here in the US. There’s no comparison!

I wanted to fold this place up, put it in my pocket, and bring it back to Nashville with me. If our weather were a better fit, maybe….
