We stopped in to Mac’s Kitchen for dinner on a Friday night as it is the closest restaurant to Shenandoah Crossing resort. If you are interested in an outstanding home cooked meal, this is the place to go. The gravy was probably the best thing, and quite tasty over crinkle fries. Both my friend and I ate the ground chuck stake, and took a piece of sweet potato cake home for later. The sweet potato cake was absolutely wonderful, moist and not too sweet. We liked the meal so much, we went back the next night and enjoyed a couple of other items on the menu (and more cake, of course!).

Don’t let the small menu fool you. I had the steak sub and it was wonderful. My son had the smash burger and he said, “it was solid as far as smash burgers go.” They had gravy for French fries and they were crinkle fries at that. I wish we went here earlier in our trip.

I forgot to take a picture of my fried shrimp basket & my husbands chicken salad sandwich before we ate it, it didn’t last long! Everything was delicious! They have a good menu & weekly specials. The owner and the lady working with him were fabulous. we can’t wait to come back

Stopped in for a late lunch and a beer. Absolutely LOVE this place. The staff is friendly and the food was great. The burger patty is ground in house and hand pattied. It was delicious. My hubby had the chicken club sandwhich it was juicy and full of flavor. Also, the French fries are really good, best I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite. We’d be eating here every day during our stay if they weren’t closed mon and tues. thanks for a great lunch and conversation folks!

This unassuming building and grounds may make you pause, but the food and atmosphere inside were splendid. If you are at Shenandoah Crossing, give Mac’s Kitchen and Catering a try. You’ll be glad you did!
