We stopped by Mad Dog and Cat’s for the first time on a recent trip to the St. Louis, MO area. We happened to be there on a Monday night, a great night because of the Monday special … the King Cut sirloinsteak special. Our waitress was Peggy from behind the bar, who was delightful! Attentive, but not intrusive.

My fourth visit to this restaurant and it has been great every time. The steaks are wonderful. A step above most restaurants, but casual dress is the norm. I highly recommend the steaks and the Jack Daniels Pork Chop.

This place was packed on a Friday, but the food was cooked well and the server took great care of us. There isn’t a kids’ menu printed on the menu, but they do have one, you just have to ask.

This is a fantastic place to eat. The service is both personable and excellent. The food is amazing! Pretzel appetizer served with warm cheese is tender and tasty. Our steaks were grilled perfectly and the Banana Rum cake served with whipped cream is light and so full of flavor. Highly recommend!!

Interesting place to eat, wasn’t quite what I was expecting. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed, as it appears to be a standard bar with little splashes of “upscale” – mainly the bar area looks a little jazzed up. The lighting is brighter than a bar would be, but still gives a cozy feeling. Staff is incredibly friendly, and service was good. Food came out just the right amount of time after ordering, server was fairly attentive.

Place used to be solid. We have been eating there for over 12 years at least once a week. Always great when Magog/Cat ran it and Walt and his wife kept it consistent. New kitchen manager/gm “Patrick” consistently kicks out under cooked fish and over cooked steaks. We will no longer order from there. It’s a real shame. WALT!!! Wake up my dude. Do better.

What a gem! Excellent service and superb food. I was here for Taco Tuesday and let me tell you, the fish tacos are the glory yes sir! Margaritas are well served and delicious. My hubbs had the New York Steak sandwich with a side of baked beans, he was lacking his fingers! Haha. Come hungry.
