We usually go to this location for cast parties after strike. Generally we call ahead and mention that there will be plenty of us (20+) there and accommodations are generally made for us to sit in a similar section together. Service can be slow, but I’m not talking about the average wait time per large party of guests, more like long periods of time where the waitstaff usually just disappears and doesn’t come back to check on the party often.

This is the first bad review I’ve left for anything in my life. In the past I’ve always loved Mad Mex. Tonight was a far different experience for my girlfriend and I. It’s never been more apparent that a place was trying desperately to cut costs. No more free chips and salsa. Whatever. Maybe that’s forgivable but it was unexpected and disappointing. Next…our meals come out and my wrap has one or two small pieces of chicken in each side and is almost all rice other than that. I was given about 8-10 waffle fries which looked like far less than what I’ve typically received here. My girlfriend gets a bean and cheese quesadilla that’s $13 and comes with no side. Sure you pretty much know that information when you look at the menu but come on. Those thin things come out and you just instantly think of how they’re probably making a 90% profit on the item. Start thinking of the customers again instead of costs. Still hungry after the meal is complete. In the past I was able to pack half up and take it home. Weak stuff Mad Mex. Do better

For those who enjoyed my CVS on Cochran Road review, this is where we went to decompress from that fiasco. Mad Mex has been one of my favorites for over 20 years which is astounding to me as a I write that. The food is wonderful (except, oddly, the flour tortillas. They kinda suck) and the atmosphere always rocks. We eat at a lot of different locations with a strong preference for Robinson after a day of shopping, and I honestly always forget how awesome this location is. I think because it is slightly tucked away I tend to forget about it being here. But today, when I walked in, I was reminded that this location totally rocks. The ladies who greeted me were absolutely wonderful and accomodating. I shared with them the “if you don’t like how filthy it is, go to the drive up window” and got exactly the response I would expect from any sane human. Abject horror at the idea of it. Do see my CVS review if you haven’t yet read it. It’s astounding how terrible it was.

I was in town and planned on stopping at the Applebee’s in the same parking lot. Decided to stop in here and so glad we did! The place had just opened and we were sat immediately. The food was amazing, probably the best Mexican food I’d ever had. The chips were unique as they appeared to be home made and delicious as well. I’ll definitely stop back in if I’m in town! This is a must try!

Food is very good. I enjoyed the Fahita Burita, which was well prepared and flavorful.

Honestly the worst margarita I’ve ever had and food was quite disappointing. For being a Mexican place, there were really no gluten free options since everything is flour chips/tortillas. Truly Chipotle has better Mexican if you even want to call it that. But I guess that’s what you get for a chain Tex Mex restaurant. I was just hoping for a little more.

The tofu taco salad is an all-time favorite. Basic and simple. HUGE serving of it. Make sure you have your guacamole in the bag if you order it to go. Twice now, it’s been missing. Other than that – yum!

The waiter was horrible. Messed up 4 out of 6 orders. Did not come and check on us. Had to ask other waitresses for things we wanted. The food was good. This was in Scott Twp. Shadyside is much better.
