This place was awesome! We stopped in here for dinner after a long day of sightseeing in Salem and Marblehead. My wife had the clam chowder and I had the scallops. They were both excellent! Our server Shayna? sp?, was awesome! She gave us tourists a lot of tips on what to see and where to eat while on the East Coast. She definitely loved her job and was very attentive to all the customers. We will be back if ever in the area!

Went a few times this summer for dinner after 20 years. Move over Barnicle, my new favorite. Clam chowder is outstanding – an A+ given the stock and clams. Fried clams well executed – not greasy, and portion not overwhelming. Young staff professional and attentive.

Just the best. Original we were at The Landing. Service was non existed. Walked out stop at Maddies. Right at home. Bartender and server Chris was great. Don’t waste your time anywhere else. Food and drinks were great.

Must admit this place has amazing fresh seafood, raw oysters were probably one of the best I’ve ever had and scallop lobster risotto was impressive too, with perfectly cooked scallops and chunks of lobster. Watching the chef cook my food via hot plate window in very clean kitchen using gloves was quite satisfying. IF ONLY their bartender was someone else this would be 200% recommended. She was just horrible. I would overlook kind of unfriendly behavior which is strange for bartender who usually is very talkative and attentive to bar guests, but she was constantly on her phone or chatting with locals on bar completely ignoring me. Not once she asked how is my food, touching her hair every 3 minutes but the worst was when she was fixing her ponytail and when holding it with left hand she grabbed my food from window and brought in front of me. Such a shame because this place deserves ten stars for chef and food but I haven’t had such unpleasant bartender for many years.

The food was delicious- clam chowder was phenomenal. Others enjoyed their lobster quesadilla and sword fish BLT, However, the service could have been better. Maybe they were short staffed. Our particular waitress complained right off the bat about her day and you could tell she was stressed out. She did let us know the food was taking longer to come out the kitchen, so we placed our order for apps and entrees at the same time. When we finished our apps, she asked if we wanted the check..we didn’t even get our meals yet. So it appeared she forgot to put in our food. We were there for two hours in total. Just a long time for a late lunch. Friends said service was never this bad before.
