I just got back from a very disappointing dinner at Madelines. First, I was basically ignored for 10 minutes at the bar. Finally the owner/manager who was on break or done for the day asked one of the servers if I had been helped.

My boyfriend and I were very excited about going to Sunday brunch. When we first walked in the place had a very airy and nice feel to it. I felt I was a bit under dressed. The first thing I noticed that it was small and that most of the tables were dirty. We waited five minutes to be seated after the hostess awkwardly greeted us. The restaurant was not busy at all, less than half of their tables were empty and dirty. Even after seeing all that we were very excited to try the food. We waited five mins, and no body came to us. Okay. Okay. We waited fifteen minutes. I made eye contact with everyone of the servers suggesting that we needed service and yet no one came. After twenty-five minutes of waiting (all my boyfriend), we just got up and put the menus on the host stand. We were furious. I would understand if it was busy or we were in an unseen table, but the fact that the servers did not even try, I was livid. I was told that service was slow and that’s what I expected. We might try again in a few weeks but for now this establishment has negative stars in my book.

Adorable little restaurant with an emphasis on local goods. Always great quality food and personable staff. Relaxed atmosphere – favorite part about the decor are the “quote” tables (several tables topped with artwork that features quotes – was told each one themed & created by local artist). Highly recommend!
