Mai’s Coconut Cakes is a few tents on the side of the Thai supermarket. They have a free parking lot that was pretty empty when we went around Sunday noon. It’s cash only and they serve amazing Thai bbq, fried coconut cakes, fried fish balls, sticky rice, and more. We ordered the the bbq pork and chicken, coconut cakes, and fried yellowtail, which was deep fried fish paste. All of it was very tasty and the portions were sizable, good for two or three people. Their hours are very specific so double check before you go.

I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints! The coconut cakes are chewy and not too sweet. Usually takes them 10-20 minutes to make them for you. Also in the same stand, there’s a BBQ stand with really tasty grilled meats, and a stand that sells tom yum noodles, fried foods, and thai desserts. Make sure you go to an ATM before coming because they’re cash only. They’re only open on weekends.

This place was somewhere I chose spontaneously since I wanted a coconut flavored dessert and I’m so glad I came here. I came right at closing time and they were kind enough to let me get two boxes. These taro coconut cakes were super delicious and very reasonably priced; my eyes widened as soon as they gave me a sample because it tasted so good. Would highly recommend!

Superb Thai delicacy– get some coconut cakes to share with friends! They’re soft and sweet. This shop is located in the parking lot of the LAX-C plaza about .5 mile from Union Station.

Happened to be nearby and remembered that I had saved this place. And yes, the freshly made coconut cakes were incredibly delicious! Crispy outside with soft interior permeated with the aroma of coconut. Try them!

This place is incredible. Across from it is the largest costco you’ve ever seen, except it’s filled with only asian foods and products and the chances are if you can read this then you can’t read half of the things that are in there.

Everything about the coconut cakes is perfection. Fresh, warm, so melt in the mouth buttery without ever being greasy or heavy. The skewers are super yummy and grilled to perfection. Definitely recommend eating there or in your car because its beat eaten right away

Mae is the sweetest person ever! Her cakes are like a piece of heaven! I found this little gem through a field trip and have introduced my family since then. The coconut cakes are crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth in the inside! Definitely worth the try.
