The portions are hearty, the food is delicious and the employees treat you like family. Don’t miss the meatloaf, or the hamburgers, or the rolls, or the onion rings!! Heck I don’t think there’s anything that won’t be excellent there!! You better save room for dessert because no matter what you pick, it does not disappoint! That meatloaf is so good I order the exact same thing as a to-go plate too!! Did I mention the rolls!!?! It’s a good thing I don’t live closer, I’d have my own table!!

We went right after church today. It was crowded and busy but they got our order and we went for to go. There was a bit of a wait but like I said, we went when it was very busy. The food was worth waiting for! We got the BBQ bacon burgers, onion rings, okra, and peach cobbler. The onion rings are the best in the area, fresh and flavorful. Price was great especially for the huge amount of food. I couldn’t eat the whole burger so saving it for later.

Found this lilttle gem on Google maps and saw the reviews. So we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Eggs perfectly cooked over easy. Hashbrowns just right with all the crispy goodness of a much loved iron skillet, at least thats how they got and get made at home. So good you dont need ketchup,mustard, or hot sauce. Just a bit of egg yolk. Thick, juicy bacon. Now to the star of the whole meal. The biscuits and tomato bacon gravy. If a biscuit could be cake,these would define that without a doubt. Soft and just the right texture. Y’all are gonna see me again for sure. Thank you for a delicious meal and a great start to our day.

Oh my Lord this place is THE best place to eat on Lake Palestine! We manage a van and boat rental company and we are SO thankful to find good food during peak season. Everything we’ve ordered has been amazing! The onion rings are probably the best I’ve ever had. Portions are large, save room for dessert!! Definitely highly recommend! The only negative is that you’ll be there and in our seat 😉

My husband, Max, and I have eaten here and gotten take home several times. We have had the catfish, the hamburger/cheeseburgers, the hamburger steak n gravy, the meatloaf special and some desserts so far. The food is delicious! I am obsessed with their delicious hamburgers and hefty serving of fries. My hubs favorite so far has been the catfish, nice size pieces and you can actually taste the fish, not overly breaded. Every time we have picked up take home, the orders have been filled perfectly. Nothing left out. How often does that happen these days?? We love this family-owned business. Go check it out

I saw an article online that this was a hidden gem. I was skeptical when I drove up, but we parked and went in. I’m so glad we went in as the food was off the chart’s delicious!!! This is a very small place and probably only like 10 tables or so. We went on a Friday night so the Special was catfish and it was fresh and yummy!! The coleslaw tasted like my great aunts recipe. The berry cobbler was homemade and incredible!!!! The staff was so welcoming and they even made sure our son got what he wanted. This is definitely a place you should check out and not judge the place by where it’s located or what it looks like. Great people & great food is all you need and this place is that!!!

If your looking for the wine list, this isn’t the place for you. But if you are hungry for real grandma’s kitchen, hearty, made from scratch, home-style cooking – fried okra, gravy, real mashed potatoes and chicken fried everything served by a friendly staff, Mae’s is heaven.
