I absolutely love the food here. I was first introduced to it in 2017, but I only started coming here regularly a few months ago since I have an internship within walking distance. Food and customer service is always fantastic. I’m so glad they did well through the worst parts of the pandemic. I’d have been very sad if they closed. Highly recommend.

Discovered this gem a few years ago and just had to finally write a review. LOVE these Empanadas! Do not miss the chimichurri sauce. Take it from me, just buy the larger size and use on everything from eggs to steaks! Proprietor is gracious, and professional. This place is a family favorite!

We got an incredible assortment of empanadas from Maestro. They. Were. So. Good. My six year old demolished the bbq chicken and breakfast (both amazing) my husband and I loved the chicken and cheese n potato! The dough is a perfect texture, thin but tender..absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

Fantastic food. I highly recommend this place. Great selection of different empanadas. It is in top 5 of tastiest food I have had in my life, and I have traveled. Not trying to sound snooty, but you have to try this place. Call ahead and they will be warm, toasty, and delicious.

This place is amazing. Definitely nothing like it in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids corridor. Extremely fresh, baked empanadas, with interesting ingredients and sauces. Vegetarian friendly as well. Not a lot of seating, so my suggestion would be to take these to go.

Empanadas have become a regular part of my diet because of Maestro, and I’m very happy with that!! I hadn’t tried many empanadas before coming to Maestro. The food is great, customer service is nice, and they always wear masks when customers are around. I’ve never had to wait more than 25 minutes for them to prepare my pickup orders.
