One of the best lunch spots for Chinese downtown. Really effective bang for your buck. The foods good, service is friendly and fast, and it doesn’t break the bank. I keep going back. I will say I haven’t had the most luck exploring dishes that fall outside of generic American Chinese restaurant staples (i.e. sesame chicken, general two’s, Mongolian beef). If you need lunch and dinner for the price of one though, Magic Wok can’t be beat.

I called and the lady said i can’t place an order over the phone after 8:00, so i asked if they could still take my order when i get there but i’ll be pushing it close, i specifically said “8:24” she said okay. I get there. Instantly when i walk in she says “we’re closed” i said “i spoke to you on the phone and you told me i can come in” this woman says and i kid you not “ you said 8:24 it’s 8:25” so one minute makes a difference??!!! Would never go back again. Good food good prices, but i wasted time and gas, off of their word that was no good.

Best Chinese you’ll find in UAB hospital area. Servers are always attentive and polite, food is prepared very quick, and portion sizes are very generous. They even toss in a free egg roll at lunch time. A+
