While the managerial staff were outstanding and accommodating, our experience was marred by a disinterested waitress. Unfortunately, her persistent phone usage and lack of attention to patrons were quite noticeable. Her reluctance to engage or attend to her duties detracted from an otherwise impressive venue.

This place is a hidden gem in Biddeford. They are already on the map due to the James Beard nomination and well deserved. The drinks were extremely high caliber. I had 3 different types of old fashions and each was better than the next. They put a lot of effort and though into each cocktail and it shows. Our server Scott was great. The Chef’s really know what they’re doing, every single dish pairs well with every item offered, (we ordered everything but two items). The best Duck I’ve ever had. Hostess was kind and gave us a great seat on the patio. Restrooms clean & smelled great. Drinks were phenomenal, well balanced, the flavors were there, glass-wear classy and unique. Overall a great night for us and we appreciated the thought that went behind each item, from start to finish. We will definitely be returning and recommending. Didn’t get pictures of the food, that’s how you know it was great, just submerged in the experience the whole time.

Fabulous. We’ve been driving around that corner in Biddeford forever. It’s a great spot especially on a beautiful summer eve. Food was very very good. The special clam toast tonight was delightful. I never thought I’d care for the duck but it was really special. I would like to see a shellfish item on the menu and perhaps a soup or bisque and another salad offering. We liked our servers and the timing was excellent. Lovely

Would have giving 5 stars across the board, but the size of the serving to the price point is slightly off. The taste and presentation of the food is incredible, the service is attentive, yet not overbearing which is how it should be. The cocktails are innovative and tasty. Great place for a date night or drinks and eats with a group.

The ambiance, the service, and the food was amazing. Sat at the bar, such a nice setup. I had wine but the cocktails looked so interesting. Had a few items as starters (olives, arugula and mushroom) both were great. Especially loved the clam toast. Also tried the duck as well as the halibut. Even dessert was good. Small plate style and limited menu but everything was amazing. Would advise on making a reservation.

Magnus on Water has a great staff. The hostess and our server were lovely. The drinks were wonderful – but the food left something to be desired. As an example – I understand the concept of share plates – but I was a bit surprised when the “scallop” plate came with one singular scallop. In my opinion the price point does not match up with what is served. This being said – if you’re looking for a great cocktail and some lovely ambiance – Magnus could be your scene.

We got reservations to sit at the bar, which was a nice option as that is our favorite choice. We shared 6 different dishes and all of them were fantastic. Between the two of us we had 3 glasses of wine and 2 beers. Each was distinctive and well above average. Service was outstanding in that it was personable without being intrusive and extremely efficient. We moved to the area recently and are making our way through the restaurants. We will definitely be adding this one to the future rotation!
