We waited 30 minutes for a table, arrived at 9:15 AM, and the line was out the door. After that, we waited one hour for our food. The food was hot, and cooked very well. Server was very nice. We sat at the bar. Plan to be at this place for 1.5 hours . The cappuccino and mimosa was also very good . If I had time in the morning, I would come back and eat here again.

Nice contemporary decoration diner. The pancakes were good but the ice coffee, (they gave us cold brew) was not it. The service could be better and attentive, it was a little busy on a weekday but no long waiting. Overall the whole experience was ok and the food was pricier.

Magpie Diner was terrific! The restaurant is very clean with plenty of seating inside and outside. The food was tasty and the service was top notch. I highly recommend the chorizo bowl and the Egg Sammie sandwich. We also ordered the espresso old fashioned and it was dynamite . Magpie is definitely a place we plan to visit again when visiting Harrisonburg.

This is a busy place but it’s so good. Love the food and vibe. We ordered the roast beef tartine and it was great. It was on the salty side though. We also ordered the egg and cheese biscuit and it was delicious. The short-stack pancakes were tasty. I will always come back. The pastry from the neighboring bakery is amazing.

The food here is farm to table type foods. I love their selection. Everything I have had here is delicious. Service is friendly! Worth the wait!

My boyfriend and I were visiting the area for the weekend and he found Magpie online. We had read that there will be a 1-2 hour wait. Thankfully we only had a 46 minute wait. We were then seated at the bar. We had already decided (while waiting) what we wanted to order. It did take a little bit for the waitress to get us water and take our order because she was talking to the person next to us, but she was really nice. I ordered the fresh orange juice (love the machine!) and it was SOO good. Just wish for $5 the size of the glass was a bit bigger. We split the Southern Poutine and the Breakfast Club Biscuit. The Biscuit sandwich was my favorite! I also purchased a vintage t-shirt 🙂 It was definitely worth the hype and would love to come back if we are ever in the area again!

Great diner in downtown- service was very good and the food was great, as well as the coffee too. I got the waffle and my wife got the smoked trout frittata, and kids got the french toast. The bacon was one of the best i’ve had. If I’m really nitpicking, my only complaint is it seems they didn’t use real maple syrup for the French toast – at that price point ($10) it should be.

Run, don’t walk to Magpie. Complete with sweet hospitality and charm topped off with delicious food. The cinnamon French toast was just delicious.
