Very good food, the breakfast skillet was prepared to perfection and was delicious. The fruit plate with cottage was also good.

A friend told us to try Magpie’s Grill and I’m glad we went! We enjoyed our meal at Magpie’s Grill. The large selection of fried appetizers gave me eater’s block and I just couldn’t decide, so, thankfully they had a pick 3. The zucchini strips, large onion rings and mozzarella sticks were dipped in a light flaky batter and so delicious. The chicken wings only come with one type of sweet and spicy sauce which is really good but, I’m a fan favorite of spicy so, of course, I had to have some hot sauce on the side. The wings were really large sized which I don’t see too often. 🙂

Family owned vibes, which I really liked. I dinned in. If your dining in you seat yourself. I noticed many people were ordering out. Which is a good indicator. Good service, quick, and polite staff. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with a side of fries. You can select other sides if you want. Sandwich was good. I would order it again. Fries came out crispy and golden. Overall. Yah, I would go back.

Really nicely cooked food here, with some interesting menu choices like schnitzel and bratwurst. The schnitzel is excellent, and the accompanying German potato salad is really good. I’ve also tried the ‘pollo pleaso’, which is a fantastic grilled chicken sandwich.

I went here for the first time and it was a great overall experience from the quality of food, an impressive variety of breakfast options on menu, and good service. The price is fair and the dish when brought out looked appealing, too. I got an omelette with bacon & cheese that had loads of good bacon in it. What was even nice is the fruit. It wasn’t just your typical cantaloupe and honeydew either (as you see in picture provided below). I’ll be coming back for sure!

‘ve been dining in the area for about 25 years. I’d occasionally go to Magpies even though their prices were out of line. Bad service kept me away for about 10 years. With the post Covid closures of so many establishments in the area I decided to give them another chance. That was a bad decision. The gravey on my turkey tasted like old rancid grease. The French onion soup lacked the traditional cheese and the single large croutons was replaced with a few salad croutons. Getting a refill on the over priced soft drinks was nearly impossible. Older people loose their sense of taste and smell. Medical fact. 95% of the visible customers qualified for Social Security. The only reason I can fathom for their patronage is they just can’t tell the difference. If I live long enough I might try again in 10 years.

What a nice little find in the Montrose area. So a couple alterations on the food would have been nice, the food was really good and the menu is just offering you wonderful selections. It is definitely worth a try.
