The quality of they’re food ingredients is stellar! Most Chinese joints have inferior beef quality, whereas here they have real steak that’s grilled in your beef lo mein. I ordered a Shrimp Lo Mein with $3 of beef added. The food tasted great. However, I had asked for it to be Spicy. Yet when I went to pick up my order, the lady said it was Not Spicy and then gave me some packets of hot sauce. Hot sauce has vinegar in it and would change the flavor, versus adding some red pepper and mixing it while cooking. How hard is that? Great food, just needs better service from people that should care.

Unfussy, standard takeout Chinese fare, the place to go to if you want takeout Chinese in New Haven. Hard to find much cheaper food in New Haven for the quantity they give that isn’t some billion dollar chain. Good portions. The pork fried rice is pure umami.

My food was never delivered to my home. I was charged for the food that I never received. I am still trying to get the money refunded. It is a long annoying process. I am not happy!!! It has been days since I did not receive my order and MAIN GARDEN STILL HAS NOT REFUNDED MY MONEY!!! I REALLY DISLIKE BEING CHARGED FOR FOOD THAT WAS NOT DELIVERED TO ME!!! MAIN GARDEN LEFT ME WITHOUT MY DINNER AND KEPT MY MONEY!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE!!!!! I decided to give this restaurant another opportunity today! Today I received my food but this restaurant is either so cheap that they are using spices and seasonings in barely noticeable quantity or they simply do not care about the quality of the food once they have collected the money. Even though I requested extra duck sauce since I planned to use it on several items, they gave me only three duck sauce for two entrees, two appetizers. With the exception of the Won Ton Soup none of it was seasoned properly! SKIP THIS RESTAURANT . THERE IS BETTER FOOD ANYWHERE ELSE!! IT IS OVERPRICED AND NOT WORTH IT!!
