I have gone to Main Moon many times over the past few years, and it quickly became my favorite Chinese restaurant. I absolutely love the people who own it, and the staff are always so nice. As for the food it is delicious, I haven’t had another Chinese restaurant better than it. As I mentioned earlier, I come here a lot, and have never once had a bad experience. I love Main Moon, and highly recommend you try it.

We used to love Main Moon, it was the best Chinese takeout in our area and surrounding towns. This past visit we ordered general tsos chicken combo and the chicken was incredibly dry, anlmost powdery texture when eating, definitely over fried as well as the egg roll which was literally dripping in oil. Now I understand oil is used but it seemed as though the oil wasn’t fresh and the consequences of consuming my meal ripped my stomach apart. I do not have GI issues and have no had an experience like this before. Almost thought I had food poisoning. Also, I go two small dime sized broccoli pieces. That’s it. The peas in the fried rice seemed as though they were dry or frozen still. The whole dish was completely different then I remember and because of my experience, unless they step it up and realize that people want consistent, quality food for their hard earned money, I will not be returning.

General Tso’s chicken or tofu are fantastic. Ginger wantons have a fan club all the way up to New Hampshire. The place doesn’t look like top quality food location, but that is all I ever get from them. Have been going here for over 10 years and absolutely love the staff and food they provide. I have made orders of over $400 from them on 1 days notice for work functions, and After 1 hour travel, 1 hour setup, my coworkers still rave that it is the best Chinese food they have ever had. I cannot say enough about Main Moon.

Used to be my favorite, but they’ve gone way downhill. Must be a new owner. Chicken seems drier and even some pieces are burnt…and they left out an egg roll from my order, but still charged me for it. Seems the prices have gone up with portions getting smaller. The egg rolls I did get were much smaller than I remember. I won’t be back after this. I tried twice and each time they failed.

The food was delicious! I had pepper steak with onion… which I asked for softer, less crunchy veggies and they nailed it (most places the veggies are almost raw). I also ordered beef teriyaki and it was so tender. I was a huge Chang-An fan when they were in Avon and haven’t found anyone as good, until now. Thanks for great food!!!

Trying to order online for delivery but the system keeps telling me the subtotal is not enough for delivery no matter how much I put in it. But nowhere does it say what the minimum is. Then when you go back it wipes out all the info you put in and you have retype it over and over again. I gave up, I’ll find somewhere else.

Decent food, fair prices. There are tables but not really a sit down restaurant except for a quick casual lunch. UPDATE: I have become a regular customer of Main Moon after moving to Simsbury last spring. The taste, quality and service are consistently good. Deliveries are quick and pickups always ready on time. I sometimes customize my orders and they always get it right. Truly friendly staff!
