Main Street Cafe is in the heart of Historic Madison City which is super small but quaint! If you’re looking to enjoy a leisurely lunch – this is the place.The service is friendly and the food isn’t super quick but fast enough. From chicken salad to salmon or pork to pastas the menu has a good variety depending on your appetite. My Mother’s favorite is the Georgia Pecan Chicken. I ordered the Blackened Salmon and I would recommend it for sure. Main Street Cafe is adorable and has outdoor seating. Super cute place with a truly southern feel.

Came here about two weeks ago for the first time for lunch with my mom. This place has a cool history — it apparently used to be a jail! — and is located in the quaint little downtown of Madison. We parked a little ways off and enjoyed our walk over. More of the jailhouse/historic vibe is inside the restaurant, but they have a nice patio and it was a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside.

Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered quiche of the day with a scoop of chicken salad. The mandarin spinach salad with poppy seeds is a must try. It’s light, so fresh and tasty. This restaurant gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for everything. I’m absolutely in love with it. The ambience, freshness and delicious flavors will captivate you. It was a prison cell back in the day and they would keep the prisoners overnight over there before transporting them to their destinations, that’s why it’s next to railway track. It didn’t seem exceptional at first glance, but the service was exemplary from everyone we interacted with, Timm especially, and the food was genuinely good. What an adorable little spot! It is exactly what you would want for a nice lunch to visit with a friend. The menu is unique and they also have daily specials on the board at the front. The building is a historical one with lots of character. We went on a Monday right in the middle of lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes. The waitress we had was very knowledgeable about the menu which we appreciated. They also have a kids menu for $5.95 that includes a side and drink. I also thought the pricing for adult meals was very fair. We will definitely be back.

The service is still fantastic!! Same Historic Jail in downtown Madison. New ownership, changed the menu a bit. It’s different from what I came to always expect. It was still good. But, we probably made our last special event last Friday. May need to see if their lunch salads are still the same. Thanks to the Excellent Server’s!!!!

Our Lunch was excellent we had the Club on Sourdough with sweet potato fries! Please get the Sweet Potato fries and skip the regular ones and chips, I Promise you will not be disappointed. Place was busy but its Father’s Day weekend and lunch time on a Saturday, and we still got our food in a decent time. Server was attenative and kept us informed of our meal status. We will be back.
