Friendly local spot with steaks and western favorites. Filet was tender and delicious. No beer on tap was a disappointment (okay selection of bottles) friendly staff.

I visited this past Tuesday totally enjoyed my experience so I thought I would drop my review. I was surprised to not see all 5 stars. It was highly recommend by many ( have you tried the pub yet) so I took the time to read the non-5 star reviews. All said the service was outstanding and it was true the service was fantastic! The food was good and that also true. I ate every bite, I was so full when I left! The place was clean the cut of meats were high quality. Not even the bad reviews had anything negative about the actual restaurant , staff, atmosphere, nothing that warrants a bad review. They zoned in on cost with the comparison of chain restaurants. I expected to pay a little more for the historical area. What I didn’t expect was the friendly accommodations that were given, like they really did appreciate my business. Wow I felt like this would be my place to go if I didn’t live in North Carolina! I was visiting my brother & sister Inlaw who I know will now be frequent customers. I like these people, I like the history of the decorations, I like the food, I liked the temperature they kept the room, I liked everything about this place! Then they came up to the table and said pick a number on Tuesday’s you can roll the dice if the number you pick comes up the whole table will be free! There were 5 of us so that was a risk for them. We picked 9 but rolled 4 so no we didn’t win but it sure was fun thinking we might!! So back to the cost. You get what you pay for. I’m sure those customers would not enjoy a 3 star rating on the job they do. IF they do the best at their trade in town! Nor would they want a pay cut to get people to like them. I guess they do not understand. Highly recommend!

My meal was good, atmosphere was great. My boyfriend’s meal was not good. He wasn’t expecting paper thin pork chop, cream pepper gravy with mushrooms (who does that) and the croutons on his salad was stale. Prices were really too high for what we got. We won’t be going back.

Amazing place to eat! If you come in on a Friday or Saturday night you may have a wait if you don’t call for a reservation, but nothing compared to most restaurants I’ve been to. Food is so good and servers are all friendly and helpful! One of the last non chain restaurants left around and so much history in the building.

Too crowded, we had to walk out, they were understaffed. We sat there for 8 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then, we sat there another 9 minutes while we saw the girl who acknowledged us serve folks that walked in after us. We finally got up and left. Spent our money instead at Rib Crib BBQ, delicious…and they had a hostess!!!

Food was okay at best. I’d have had better food at Braum’s down the street. Service was very slow, the waitress did tell one of the party where to get his water refilled. Tack on service fees and tax over 35% of price. A 4% credit card fee, 20% gratuity (after tax), then sales tax. All for poor service and less than good food!

Wow!!! This is such an amazing little pub in downtown. The decor is warm and inviting and staff super friendly. Nice beer selection! Now, let’s talk food. Holy Moly! We had the dinner special. 4 course meal for 2 for just $36. We started with the mushrooms. They were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. We also had the Sirloin and pan fried trout. Both melt in your mouth good. The pinto beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. Seasoned with onion and jalapeño. Mmmm mmm good. And the Jambalaya soup was as good as it is in Louisiana. Then came the hot peach cobbler. Pure heaven.

$44 for the 6oz petite fillet? Wow! Since when does a menu in Texas have “market” for a price for beef? Maine lobster, yes. But beef in Texas? No extreme shipping costs for beef in Texas. They’re not Ruth Chris or Lawry’s – far from it. The asparagus was over done. That’s just taking advantage of people’s good faith. Won’t ever go back.
