The Maine Diner is fantastic. It’s everything you could want from a diner. It’s cozy, the food is great and the service is excellent. I’ve had a few different things both breakfast and dinner foods. Pancakes are awesome. The lobster pie was also amazing. I wish this place was open on Wednesdays because when I have a run to Maine it goes on Wednesdays. But I still get there when I can

Visited on a Tuesday morning wait list was on and off, so they were at right about capacity. Food was standard diner fare, nothing special. Prices are in line with other places. This place has a long history and is an institution, just keep your expectations in line with a normal diner.

The place was packed and we had to wait for about 15 minutes. They gave us a beeper to let us know when our table was ready.

Unbelievably good food!! The lobster pie, lobster grilled cheese, seafood chowder, Indian pudding, corn muffin, and lemonade were all amazing and so was the friendly service! Quite busy and had a fairly long wait but definitely worth it! Nice souvenir store next door to shop in while you wait:)

Lobster featured on at least 6 (maybe 12?) Menu items. I had grilled cheese and lobster (very generous amt), my wife had lobster melt (again lots of tender lobster meat), I also ordered (against my wife’s advice) the Clam-O-Rama entree (creamy chowder-lots of clams) fried whole and strips, clam cake, and choir of potato- I had baked). Much came home in great packaging for later. If only we had room for desert. Sitting at the counter, watching them cut & serve the pies, and other creations-might go back just for the missed desert!

The food was amazing! My wife and I enjoyed the “Jim Nantz”, which was a hot lobster roll and a cup of seafood chowder. The food was fantastic! The service was great during a busy and hectic time with lots of people waiting.

Awesome place we will definitely be back. The seafood chowder is the best I’ve ever had the lobster roll and the lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. Our waitress Sandy was great. It was definitely worth the hour drive to get there.

By far the best dining experience we have had in Maine! Skip all the other places and eat here for every meal! They have a huge variety- everyone around us said “this is the best we have ever had”…blueberry pancakes, omelet, seafood chowder, corn beef hash, blueberry pie. Service was great as well. We overheard a waitress telling a customer how she had worked here for over 20 years.

Awesome food, friendly attentive staff, good prices on a diner setting! I’v been coming here during vacations since the 1980s and every meal was great. Also a pretty cool gift shop. Do yourself a favor and get a bowl of seafood chowder!
