Just gorgeous tacos. The shells are made from corn they grind themselves—featuring a new type of corn every couple of weeks or so (the time it takes to grind through one giant bag).

Autentico! Homemade tortillas top it. And the meat was juicy and saucy and flavourful. Very friendly service. Legit Mexican drinks and sweet breads too. Not a lot of seating—more a street taco style. And price is higher than expected, but you get quite a bit of meat with the tacos! The tomales were surprisingly tasty!

The owner was lovely, I was in line to go to Starbucks but quickly got annoyed from standing in the cold, so I just decided to get something here, and I’m so glad I did. It was delicious.

I’m picky about my Mexican food because I hold it to such high standard, and Maíz did not disappoint.

Honesty IS the Key!
First time. I ordered 6 chicken tamales to go. Let’s just say it wasn’t to my liking. I didn’t eat them.

Unfortunately we ate elsewhere and then found out this place was here. I did have a Horchata Latte and it was good. It wasn’t too sweet. I’m not sure if they bake their own pastries but those were delicious as well. They make homemade tortillas so they are fresh out of the comal. I wish we could of had their food options. Place is small but very cute. The have tiles filled with art. Customer service is amazing!!! Will definitely visit again!

Amazing new location at pike market. They are very very friendly there. I ordered 3 tacos and 3 quesadillas. They gave me to try their home made tortilla that they make from corn that they bring from Mexico. The guy was very friendly there he warmed complementary tortilla with salt and It was so delicious.

Was passing through Pikes Place and saw this new place! Figured I would give it a try and I was not disappointed! The food was great and they make the masa and tortillas and everything right there in front of you. They have a rotating menu and use different types of corn in different days, when I went it was the blue corn! Very good food and great staff only really for a four is because not much room to sit down if you had more than just yourself in there in your group. The horchata latte was amazing though definitely recommend that!!

Hand ground heirloom masa tortillas, toppings all slow cooked to develop flavors…what’s not to love? $6 for a taco at the Market isn’t a bad deal at all. I’ve brought dozens of people here & they’ve all been very impressed. Plus, probably the friendliest staff at Pike Place. Do yourself a favor and buy a jar of the pickled veggies and salsa verde to enjoy at home – as a chef, my co-workers & I are huge fans of both. We also buy the masa for fresh tortillas at home.
