This was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine. It was fantastic. For 12 bucks I got a heavy box of delicious food. I was stuffed, and I eat a LOT. The owner is awesome, very friendly. It was a bit spicy, so if you don’t like spicy food it may not be for you. I will be back!

I tried Makedas at the Eugene Saturday market. They were a very popular and busy vendor. The food is well spiced and you can watch it being cooked in front of you. The family cooking is friendly too. Portions were generous and I left full after trying the beef tibs. It was great to try Ethiopian cuisine and look forward to trying their other dishes.

Such nice people! Really enjoyed talking to them. Food was just as amazing & exactly what I was craving. They gave me extra Sambusa which were absolutely delectable. Only downside is the portions are on the smaller side, but that’s not keeping me from looking forward to ordering from here again.

I LOVED IT! And the lovely human helping us was so kind. We devoured every bite and oMg I went home and am still craving it! I suggest going here if you are into flavorful, slice-filled goodness. Can’t go wrong, quick bite and affordable.

Wow!! This was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I was blown away! The alecha tasted amazing and was perfectly presented, the krispy pastry thrown in on the side was also delicious. Everything was presented beautifully. 10/10 cannot wait to come back and try some of their other dishes!!

I jump at any opportunity to have Ethiopian food, but this was a decidedly underwhelming experience. $15 for a small portion of flavorless lentils and potatoes, with scant traces of carrot and cabbage, plus one cold soggy wonton. The injera was decent, but the complete lack of flavor in the alecha and lentils was disappointing. Extra star for the friendly service.

Love the veggie combo, but can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Makeda’s is the best

I simply do not have enough good things to say about this company! From the delicious food that sells out every where I see it; to the humbly on point, bold and beautiful media presence; to the amazing, kind, Eritrean-Ethiopian family that owns it (AS a family! That’s good business and a living legacy). Makeda is a stand out in Eugene. Try it if you haven’t. Go visit today if it’s been a while! Tell them Angie loves them and encouraged you to visit!

Oh heck yes! I’m still eating this amazing food and couldn’t wait any longer to review. Absolutely recommend this to anybody who is looking for good grub. Vegan friendly! The lady working was super nice, large portions and super well priced. I will definitely be returning. Well deserved 5 stars.
