Through our personal experience in managing a restaurant in Philadelphia, we believe Maki will provide a cost effective food source for city locals and students at University City. Our sushi cafe, Maki, not only serves the trending dish options of poke bowls and sushi, but they also serve delicious yet affordable fusion sushi rolls for students in the area. Did not expect much out of this place because 1) It’s very small and essentially set up like a fast food joint, and 2) It’s on the Penn campus, so I figured they might not feel the need to provide high quality sushi, thinking college students won’t know the difference. Happy to report the sushi is excellent, among the freshest I’ve had (I’m an adult and have had a lot of sushi!) and the staff is very accommodating with any changes you want to make. Also, you’re greeted with a smile, which I appreciate.
