Very good authentic Sichuan food. The ambiance in the restaurant was amazing. Not too busy and service was good. The food came out quickly and was excellent. I would definitely come again. The chicken is very spicy so be ready for some heat! But it’s so delicious.

The Mala Tofu Fish is such an aphrodisiac that my boyfriend and I didn’t make it home (being responsible adults, we parked the car). The atmosphere is soothing and romantic. Don’t forget to ask the staff to show you the cat collection in the hallway before the bathroom and ask about the cat in the middle; he is definitely adorable . Try the vodka cocktail with lychee. Very enjoyable.

Tried all the locations of Mala Sichuan bistro, and this location is the best! Each time we are here, we leave satisfied with belly happy. This time we ordered crispy beef, lotus root, pan fried dumplings and shredded pork with Beijing sauce. The beef is spicy and numbing, just what I like. My boyfriend had shredded pork, which was tender and delicious. All I all, fantastic good! Will come back soon.

Good Sichuan place. But considering competition and level of other places (e.g. Chinatown) not at 5 star flavor.

This is the best Chinese food place I’ve been to in years! Simple spot at the happening MKT with people walking the trails, kids playing, dogs, young couples all having fun enjoying great restaurants.

We had the Dan Dan noodles, crispy spicy chicken and custom fried rice. The rice could’ve had more seasoning but was still good. Over all everything was good and spicy. I would come back to this location.

One of the best meals I’ve had in htown in a long time. The spicy crispy chicken, red oil dumplings, and Dan Dan noodles are all highly recommended.

We have been to Mala Sichuan at their other locations, and wanted to give the newest addition a shot. This may be our new go to Chinese restaurant in the Heights. You can frequently tell the difference between locations based on subtle differences and of course the quality of the chef. I think the dishes at this location were the most flavorful and well presented of any (we have been to 2 other locations.) The new restaurant has a very cool paper lantern display, and a nice meeting of old and modern asthetics. The cocktails were also well crafted and used interesting ingredients. Bonus points for the matcha crepe cake. We’ll be back!
