I had just left the car wash and was wondering where to go for lunch when Malek’s suddenly jumped into my mind. I hadn’t been there in years but remembered taking my whole family there many times (when they were alive) and it quickly became a family favorite. Anyway, I am SOooooo glad I made this choice. I had the Garlic Marinated Chicken with French Fries and I got a cup of their Chicken-Lemon Rice Soup. I believe it was the best C.L.R. soup that I have ever had so far in my brief 67 years. The main course was fantastic also. I ordered the “whole” portion (wanting leftovers to take home) rather than the “half” portion (which is large enough for two people). I did my share of damage (ate) and packed up the rest to go. My server was exceptional and I rewarded him with more than a 50% tip. I can’t wait for my next trip and hope to introduce some of my friends to this delicious Middle Eastern Cuisine.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Food is fresh and usually tastes great (been there often enough to have experienced an off night in cook/service, but it’s rare). The complimentary fresh baked bread and garlic spread is proof something simple can be absolutely wonderful and delicious. Grilled chicken and veggies is a fave, but don’t sleep on the salad dressing… and everything on the menu (that I’ve had) has been pretty solid.

The service was great, polite and quick. However, the food is not the best it’s just okay. The combo for two was a 3/10, don’t order the grape leaves they’re dry and tasteless, we also got the chicken tenders from the kids meal for my son they were okay. I did enjoy the warm bread with garlic dip they served before the appetizer, they also served salad and hummus before our meals arrived which did not take long at all. All in all, I wouldn’t really recommend this place to anyone because of the food I hope they do better because I really wanted to like this place.

I use to love this place and went there for years. However I ordered from them last night, carry out, and for four sandwiches they only gave me 2 garlic sauces so had to go back in and ask for more. Then I got home and I ordered two lamb kabob sandwiches as part of my order but they gave me two shish kefta sandwiches which is not as good. So disappointing..I think they are just too busy so I will go to Shish Gardens on Allen Rd in Woodhaven. You get more food for price and their food is way better. Just my experience….
