Everything about this restaurant was great. The Mallard was a very unique class look feeling. The staff and greeter with was very nice. Our waiter was awesome, the staff also worked as a team in bringing and cleaning up our food. The food was fresh and awesome. Great atmosphere with really nice people.

We passed this restaurant, tucked in the middle of nowhere, en route to antique shopping, and it piqued our interest. So, we made reservations, and made the drive to return. We will say, in fairness, tastes are regional-and this appears to be a locals’ hangout for casual dining. For example, what some would find over-salted, others might thoroughly enjoy. The menu may be slightly confusing, as it’s printed out on a piece of paper, and not delineated (starters versus entrees). But the server kindly pointed out the differences. The credit card surcharge is clearly printed on the bottom of the menu to avoid misunderstandings. The decor is minimalist (a good thing) and it’s clean, including the restrooms. The music (from rap to Billie Eilish) was eclectic to say the least, it made for a peculiar juxtaposition. There were sports channels on the screens in the main dining room-another peculiarity.

The menu is very limited but we enjoyed the coziness of this place. Dinner by candlelight and a live band was peaceful. We ordered 2 catfish plates and I was pleased with the amount of fish we each received. Enough to get full. Oh and the duck tenders are delicious. It was my first time having duck. I would definitely go there again.

Mallard has been around for a long time in one incarnation or another due to fires and owner change. The current one may be the best. Fun place to eat but better make reservations as place is packed. The menu is limited but they do a great job with what they offer. Steaks cooked correctly, grouper was nice, fried shrimp very nice. Our server was very sweet. Enjoy

I had not been since it was remodeled. The food and service was fantastic. My only complaint is that it is not elderly friendly. I didn’t see an easy way in or out for the mobility challenged.

My little sister got married on Christmas Eve and the post-wedding meal was at the Mallard. The food was INCREDIBLE. I’m not from the area so I didn’t know what to expect, and boy was I wowed! The menu was pre-selected, so I’m not familiar with the menu, but we had a 4-course meal that was one for the books. Crab and corn chowder, wedge salad, filet (cooked to perfection) w/ shrimp, potatoes and asparagus, and a chirstmas bread pudding. There wasn’t a bite that we didn’t love. Rave reviews were heard from every person at the table about their meals, and to please every guest at a party of over 50 is something to be praised. We were stuffed! The wait staff was kind and attentive and happy to be there. Kudos to them all. Thank you for making our celebration a memorable one!

Food was excellent! We tried the duck tenders, New Orleans shrimp cocktails, chicken kabobs with hummus and pita wedges. All apps were delish. I had the seared grouper fillet over grilled veggies. Just a touch salty, but still fresh tasting and delicious! The grilled veggies really complimented the fish. Not to mention the vodka tonics! Ate at the bar with my siblings. We had a great time! My family was very impressed with our experience at The Mallard last night. Our waiter was phenomenal my dad said that our waiter was the best waiter of his life! I wish I remembered his name! He was attentive, polite, and professional. We had 9 people at our table ordering burgers, shrimp plates and a crawfish enchilada everyone loved their food with the fries being a huge hit among everyone. I had the burger and I am particular about my burger but loved the burger here. 11/10 recommend!
