We had a fabulous ride from OC down to Mallards. Food was excellent, I had the soft crab tacos, others had hamburger, crab cakes, everyone said they would return. Sat outside had a gorgeous view.

I love this place. I always make a point to come here when I visit. Live music, great food, historical building, and awesome sunsets over the water. You cannot beat that. Make a point to come and eat anything as it’s all good. Take a few minutes to see the history in the front of the building. This place is famous and everyone knows it well!

Wonderfully quaint little food destination on the eastern shore . Easy to find and well worth the visit. Located inside a historic mercantile business that once served the water community in Onacock. You enter through the original store which pays homage to its role by keeping the place intact and creating a small museum in it. The restaurant’s dining area is nicely situated with fresh, nautical colors of blue and white. There is a unobtrusive bar and a kitchen service window that borders the room. Seating outside near the water is available. Our food came quickly and was hot and fresh. We both ordered & enjoyed the crab cakes which had a nice crusty outside and tender, meat filled interior. I had mine as a salad on a bed of fresh mixed greens and red onions. I chosed the buttermilk & garlic dressing and was very pleased. We liked the quiet, yet busy atmosphere and the simple elevation of dining at The Millards.

We had an AMAZING lunch! Fresh Tilefish caught in deep water off the coast, paired with the BEST mussels we have ever tasted! Great service by Jordan! A special shout-out to Owner/ Chef Johnny Mo for the amazing meal and genuine hospitality! 10 out of 10- THANK YOU!!

Passing through the area and decided to spend the night. Needed a place to eat, this small town has several options but we gravitate towards local. Where do I begin? First off, the service was outstanding. Everyone was busting their behinds from the busboy to the waitresses to the owner. And they all seemed to be genuinely enjoying their work. Constantly checking on us, asking if everything was satisfactory and if we needed anything. The place was very busy but they made us feel like we were the most important people there. But everyone else was getting checked in on too! Catch of the day, done to perfection! Beautiful presentation and outstanding taste. Give that cook a raise! Make sure he’s happy and doesn’t leave!! Wonderful experience, highly recommend it. If we ever pass through again, we’ll stop at Mallards!!!!

Great food, evident by the empty plate that was left. The young waitresses were very friendly.

Mashed potatoes are instant. Mixed veggies turned out to be asparagus which I do not eat and it was hard. Mojito was terrible…I couldn’t even drink. Crab cake was OK…certainly not the best! Very disappointed in this place, especially for the price.

We ate there twice within a few days while on vacation. The first time was for lunch for 4. Food was okay. Not memorable. The second time we moored our boat and had cocktails and an appetizer for a group of 5. One member of the party went to the bar and ordered a specialty shot and ask that the beverage be added to the tab at the table. We paid the bill and then while we were pulling away the bartender came running to the dock telling us we had to pay our bill. It was stupid. We had to turn around and pay for the single drink that was apparently not added to our tab. That was a bit of an embarrassment and considering we had already spent several hundred dollars do you think they would have just giving us one on the house.

We had a great time there. The food was good. The crab cakes was full of crab and tasty. It had a lovely view of the water and there was a historical museum there too.

We pass through Eastern Shore often, and try to patronize local restaurants. Mallards could be a hidden gem, but we’ve been turned off by the number of highly inebriated bar patrons. The food is great, the waiters/waitresses and bartenders are super personable. Our last visit we didn’t have reservations so we were sat at the bar. We literally had someone come up next to us, try to drink a shot and spit it out all over the bar and unfortunately my husband. Our first visit was on a rainy night so we easily scored a table, but the bar was packed, loud and raucous.
