Nice little spot off the main drive in Kent. It is family run and cozy. The food was decent. I had the chicken enchiladas and tried the combo plate and steak burrito. We had the chips and salsa and both were good and liked them because they are both homemade, however $7 is way too much for chips & salsa. The rice and beans were really good. The rice is some of the best I’ve had. Both were seasoned and prepared well. The enchiladas were just okay, they were stuffed full and substantial but lacked flavor and on the mushy side. The hard shell taco was good and exactly as expected. The quesadilla was prepared perfectly, crispy and flaky but the flavorless pre-shreaded cheese was a miss. The beef burrito was good and would order again. Overall it’s a decent place, and prices are on the high side, but would go back to try more things and support a local business.

Oh my, is this food good! The tortilla chips are the best I’ve ever had. Both meals I’ve now had were so delicious and I felt good after eating them. I can’t wait to try more! I definitely recommend trying Mamacita’s!

Food is amazing… the Birria Tacos were awesome. The chips and salsa (hot or mild) were also on point. I’d love to keep this my little secret, but it’s too good not to share… this is my go to meeting place. It’s a small dining area so be ready to get it to go… and the parking is weird, but worth it.

This place is incredible! We loved the fact that it is women and family owned. You can tell! The employees were all extremely nice and diligent. The food was AMAZING. Freshly fried chips, the burrito was flavorful, and the agua fresca was super refreshing. We are so satisfied and will definitely be back soon!

We took some friends who’s son was coming to KSu this year. Our son goes to KSU and claims hands down, best restaurant in Kent. The friends we took love Mexican food and said it was definitely homemade and better than perfect. Due to my health restrictions, they had to make me something different in a salad. Just absolutely delicious! True Chefs at this place!

Ohio transplant from AZ. Hard to find real Mexican food in Ohio. This little gem has it all. Just tried the shredded beef and chicken tacos, hard shell on this visit. They cook the the taco shells right in front of you. Same if you order chips. Looking forward to tasting the rest of the menu! Amazing flavor.

I tried the elote nachos and carne asada tacos and they were both 10/10. The nachos were delicious and the carne asada was perfectly tender. I recommend getting the cilantro crema to put on your tacos. You’ll pay a little more here than at other places but it’s worth it to support a local business. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I got the shredded beef street tacos, they were so salty that they were not edible. I even had my daughter try them and she said these are so salty. Someone must have made a mistake making these ….I was so disappointed because they looked amazing

I go to Kent State University and recently discovered this place, so I decided to try it for the first time today. I ordered the Barria Tacos with chips and guacamole, and I can confidently say it is the best food I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I have tried authentic Mexican across the country and this place is right up there with the best. If you’re anywhere in the general area, go to this place and order the Barria Tacos as soon as you possibly can. Thank you so much for the great service and incredible food, you have earned a loyal customer and I will be telling everyone I know about your restaurant!
