I was taking a road trip through the south on my spring break from Michigan. I drove through every single capital south of Dixie from New Orleans to Pensacola and stopped in Mama’s Kitchen by accident during a pit stop. I was absolutely blown away, I had never had such delicious and authentic southern cuisine in my life. Everything from the fried okra, to the mac and cheese to the sweet tea was absolutely perfect. On that whole road trip, Mama’s Kitchen was the best place I stopped and I only wish I’d had more days to stay and eat there again. Sometimes I still think about the meal I had there and that was two years ago.

Great food. Fried chicken and pork chops were delicious. Try the peach cobbler if they have it. You know you found a great place when the State trooper is there. Great hospitality. All in all, great experience. Highly recommend it.

Sunday is the most popular day. After Church it is THE local place to pick up a good southern soul food country dinner! Open daily from 12-12:30 – 5:00 – ish. Closed on Wednesday. Huge amount of food for under $10! Peach cobbler is yummy! Steam table makes the line go fast! Love the corn bread muffins…

They have great food and the service was outstanding! And that famous grape Kool Aid is remarkably refreshin, I would recommend anyone if they are in the Selma Alabama area and looki ng for a great place to eat don’t go nowhere else until you go to mama’s kitchen!!!
